How does it compare to....?

Outta curiousity, realistically, how does the G37x Sedan (stock/premium package) compare with:

(All stock)
1) 335xi
2) A5
3) S5
4) 370Z
5) M37x
6) C350
7) GS350
8) 328xi

(meaning straight-line, as well as track)

Good enough? Not sure what you are looking for so I thought I'll give you an equally vague answer or would you prefer a picture of a bunny with a pancake on its head?

That would be interesting too

& speed& acceleration-wise. If they were racing. Who would take it?

I also forgot to throw in the IS350 in there.

Trick question. There are 2 number 5's. Therefore your question is no longer valid. Thanks for playing. Good bye!

It would take a lot of magazines to figure this out.

Read reviews. Research. Get off your butt and go test drive the cars.

If you have to ask vague question like this with simplistic expectations, then you're simply not qualified to have this discussion.

Comparing the Infiniti bread & butter G37x Sedan to the Audi S5? Really?

Agreed with others, its not just one option your giving, but rather 8. It also depends on the driver as well.

But honestly,

335 Coupe, S5, 370Z, they are all in a different class.

If you want hard stats, then car and driver should help or other car company reviewers will help.

Actually, if you're talking about straight line speed (which is what he wanted)...they're actually closer than you think. The brand new S5 which switched to the supercharged V6 (same on the in 10+ S4) is pretty quick, but the older one with the V8 wasn't nearly as fast as it should be. Heavy weight, crappy V8, quattro and drivetrain loss..

The only other one worth comparing is the 335xi. In short, the X drive BMW's are pretty distant from their RWD versions as far as handling and overall dynamics goes, there were a lot of sacrifices BMW made to incorporate it. The G37X stays truer to its RWD roots with its AWD system in dyanmics and handling, than the BMW xdrives. You'd just have to test drive them both to know what I'm talking about. Basically, don't get an x-drive model BMW expecting it to feel like the typical RWD ones.

That was my advice, just without the snark. So, yes.

I classs cars by cylinders and doors. So a 335 and a 370 would be in the same class as the G37.

Straight line acceleration winner - 335 coupe

Overalll handling winner - Z

Balance between comfort and performance - G37 Coupe

I dont know about sedans.

Wow. Nice response. Why don't you kick him in the nuts while you are at it? Geeesh. Go take your medication and leave the room.

@Sanjay: That car looks amazing. Lexus definitely put in work with that one. Way outta price range though.

@G37CPA Haha thanks but no worries.

@Rochester, it's a simple question yet you never answered it? & it was simple because I was just curious if anyone found other information that I didn't. Aside from that, I already leased my G so to be honest the information wouldn't change anything and I have no reason to waste my time test driving them. Also, where do you go that during your test drive you're allowed to floor the car and test out it's true ability?

Also, I heard that basically the only reason the 335 has a tiny advantage over the G is because of the launch ability it has, is that true?

That's my point, the question is too simple for discussion. If all you want is straight-line stats, all these cars have been tested and reviewed ad nauseum. So I did answer it by telling you to read, research & test drive. Granted, I wasn't as friendly as I could have been, but that's how I am sometimes.

If it's a waste of time test driving cars, then it's equally a waste of time comparing them in discussion. Either way, test driving cars is certainly not a waste of time. I love test driving cars. It's the best way to learn about cars you're enthusiastic about. Just because you have the car you want, doesn't me you're dead. Get out there are test drive, for crying out loud.

As for where... you're in Brooklyn, so your opportunities for a spirited test drive are somewhat less than here in Upstate NY. I'll grant you that. But "true ability"? Come on, man, WOT is hardly a definitive measure of a car. There are so many aspects to the driving experience, and "flooring the car" is just one of them.

As for C37CPA... meh. He's a troll, and probably ends up on more Ignore Lists than not. The Ignore List is a great feature; use it on me if you like. But I'm actually responding to your post, because not a troll. The thing is, you just don't make any sense to me. I'm here because you steered a question to me directly, but I'm sorry, man, even this feels kind of pointless.

Anyway, peace. Enjoy your rental.
