The car does consume gas if driven hard. Around town, I stay under 3K rpm most of the time. Sometimes even cruise at 1500 if its steady.

Justin, forget the computer and do it the old fashioned way.

My before fill up photo, is unavailable. But I ended with 321 miles, with 28 miles left on the range and a average of 21.1 mpg and 2.7 gallons left in the tank. I'll post full up photos.

I think the worst i averaged was 18 mpg and the best was 28 mpg. I haven't driven block after block of stop and go traffic for a full week to see how bad it would be, but I would imagine it wouldn't be good. Best thing is to coast as much as possible, but then you run into the poor shifting around 25-30 mph which drives me crazy in traffic.

Assuming your numbers are accurate, that equates to 18.55 mpg, which is very respectable for city driving. I still don't get why so many rely on the car's computer for their mpg information. From the data in this thread and elsewhere on the site, the computer may be somewhat accurate for steady state conditions, but in city driving, rpms/loads fluctuate way the system to give valid information.

These days I dont even bother resetting that any more, only reset the trip meter with every full fillup.

...because over the long term the car computer accurate. Short term (ie per fill-up) I'm not sure.

For my previous 07 G35X, I manually logged/calculated my average mileage (on fuelly.com) over the span of three months. I input every fill-up I had in this time which accounted for 2602 miles driven. After three months the car computer was .3 mpg (lower) than what I got calculated on fuelly.com.
BTW, my X averaged 18.1mpg.

you gotta love the big tank in our G's. i just logged another 330+mi city commute tank without the low fuel light, fueled up with 17USgals = ~19.5mpg. i can live with that, it's even slightly better than my old G35. it's pretty consistent for my 6MT sedan, 95% city driving during rush hour.

i just do. but i don't really consider it "good" mileage, just normal. i don't drive like a granny either - i'm usually on the quicker end of typical speeds (within reason). i skip shifts often, don't usually go much over 3k, and try to use overdrive gears as much as possible. my commute is usually good for 1-2 WOT blasts while merging onto bridges as well.

Here are the I forgot to upload photos. I finally filled it all the way. This will be my last test on mpg.

After driving a short distance to home from the gas station, mpg calculation changed;

My previous calculation is city and HWY, normal driving. I'll see how close I get to 400, that may change due to excessive speed to work this morning. My honest oppinon if you want your car in the mid range to upper 20s (mpg) then drive a hybrid. I new i was going to loose a little bit coming from the maxima. For me i wanted the power.

I got 361 miles out of my last tank. My car took 18.333 gallons at fill up. According to my cars computer, I got 19.5 mpg on that tank. According to the app i use to manually log my fuel data, I got 19.69 mpg on that tank. The computer in this car is pretty accurate when calculating mpg. Now distance to empty is a whole new ball game. My job is about 10 miles from my house. About 5 of those miles are city driving and the rest is highway, averaging about 80 mph. This car is pretty good on gas, just have to know how to get the best mpg out of it. After I filled up tonight i was averaging 29 mpg by just cruising at 65 mph. That wont be the case by the end of the tank though.

I'll be very happy if I could get 16 mpg.

Wow... That sucks. But with an average speed of 13.4 mph, you have to either idle alot or you're in constant traffic.The g is a rev happy car and not really compatible gas wise with those conditions.

I actually get better mileage in my g, then I got in my Maxima. Maybe thats because im 25 now and I dont get the urge to go WOT as often as i used to.

I did mostly stop and go city driving (aka heavy congestion) the last several tanks. I did get to drive at high way speeds from time to time, otherwise my mpg would have been single digits. Nothing is wrong with my G, it could average over 27 mpg if I drive 100% at high way speed.
