Yup. Just made the last payment on my car. It's MINE.

Now... how long will it take for the credit union to mail my pink slip!

LOL, it's a nice feeling to own your car outright.

I've had 7 new cars. I've actually owned all of them free and clear. The '04 G35 I had was paid off in 36 mos. I've got some extra income at the moment, so I paid this one off fast. As far as mods... the wife has an '08 Accord EX-L (also paid off) and she wants a Lexus. Gonna save for a couple months and then sell hers and get her a Certified Pre-owned '11 ES 350.

Yes, it certainly is. Never paid one off this fast before, though. I am practical... I always drove what I could afford. Just turns out as you get older and the kids are gone, you can afford nicer stuff!

Cars I owned: 91 Geo Metro, 93 Geo Storm, 95 Nissan P/U, 02 Civic, 04 G35, 08 Accord and now the 11 G37.

My son got the 95 truck and the 02 Civic as hand me downs, but he and I just traded the civic and now he has his very first car payment. He got an '11 Nissan Versa SL.

Props to you man. In the current economy, people are newly waking up to the realities of buying what you can afford, and it's pretty impressive to see someone responsible with their car choices, MADD respect!

Btw, Geo Metro ----> G37 is a hell of a hp increase!

Thanks, man. My pops always told me... "Kid, if you can't afford what you like, learn to like what you can afford".

I always thought it was more important to have a house before I ever got a nice car. Trips me out seeing expensive cars outside of apartments...
