Twitchy wandering steering

Hi, new to the forum. Done some reading but haven't found this addressed.

I just bought a 2011 G37XS Limited Edition (beautiful car btw).

I've noticed that the car likes to wander on the road. It's not pulling one way or the other as it drives straight as an arrow. It's hard to explain but on some roads its like the car is narrower than the dominant grooves in the road and is trying to find them. I never noticed this on my last sports sedan (2003 Honda Accord 4cyl family sedan - lol)

I've checked tire pressure and its correct.

input please and thanks.

Which tires do you have?

Here's a good explanation of tramlining:

I think the word you are looking for if I remember correctly is tramlining. Some BMWs are notorious for that.

I have the Dunlop 225/50/R18 SP Sport Maxx luxury performance tires that come with the Luxury model.
Thank you for the excellent information on tramlining. Based on the link, it seems the problem may be more pronounced because of the tires I'm running.
Much appreciated.

it's tramlining. Or, I've noticed the G have requires more steering correction, as you described, when comparing to my Audi. The steering doesn't feel as solid and tight.

I think you just need to get used to the car. I used to think my old 335 had super hyper sensitive steering and then you drive it and get used to it.

Your previous car was probably a little bit more used, sloppy and disconnected. I don't feel this car trams more than any other car I've had.

I noticed that with my G also...it seems worse than my 350Z was.

Like Beer Magazine said, you get used to it...

An enormous amount of that is the tires you're running. Switching from the pretty good Hankook Ventus v12 to the awesome Michelin PSS was like night and day as far as how much tramlining I could feel immediately.
