When did the moonroof become non-optional?

I’ve had moon roofs on my last four cars, a ’91 Maxima, ’00 Maxima, ’04 G35 Coupe, and my present ’08 G37 Coupe. Every one, except for my current car to date, rattled after a year or so, and the ’91 also leaked after three years. On my G35 I had to cycle the roof open and closed every now and then just to silence the rattle. I really hate the damn things.

But I’m glad you love yours and don’t have those issues, but don’t tell me the problem doesn’t exist for other owners.

I could never own another car without the Moonroof. Love it! But rattles can develope. My 2010 TL had a sever rattling problem, which was corrected under warranty. That car was traded in for the 2012 TL, which is alot more solid and quite than my 2010. It could just be the luck of things when it comes to rattles. My G has been solid also, not even a little creak to be found anywhere.

I just picked up a 2010 G37 Sedan Journey Base 7AT with no sunroof/moonroof. I don't really care that much. Yea, it would be nice but w/e... thankfully I have a backup camera, though..

My moonroof is either tilted or open unless it's raining. I only use the a/c when its extremely hot out. Also I found that on the highway if you tilt the moonroof and just crack the passenger rear window you get a nice breeze without having to roll the other windows down. I think it has something to do with a pressure difference, But its a good alternative to a/c.

I have always had cars with sun or moon roofs, except for my other car, which is a mustang convertible. I don't open the moon roof much due to wind noise, but it's nice to have.

You can get the moon roof as a stand alone option in the sedans. At least you could in 2009.

There's 6 base model sedans at the nearest Infiniti dealer, 4 of them have moon roofs, and none have NAV,Bose, etc. Very basic stripped models.

Moonroof is part of the premium package, you need to find a journey only model. there is no "base" model anymore, and yes they are a little hard to come by. There is one in florida and one in houston.

What is the difference in the 2010 base vs journey model exactly?

I see one for sale that says "2010 base" but it has heated seats, sunroof, navigation, and not sure what else.
