The new 328i is very nice. Faster and considerably more fuel efficient.

Nissan has alot of stepping up to do in the next G.

HP is definitely not everything. Nothing more than bragging rights. The real question is how fast is it, and in this case, almost as fast as the 88 hp more G. I've seen times with it as low as 5.6 sec 0-60. BMW has been notorious for underrating their engines. Combine that with the much improved gas mileage, it does make it a much more attractive vehicle.

Could you explain what the "badge group" is? I don't understand. I thought the car you purchased was for the "badge" and you must be part of the "elite" group to purchase your "badge".

I guess, I'm extremely jealous of BMW, what to hypnotize the masses to get them to buy their car, not because of the best in class handling and feel...because of a 2 inch circular painted medallion on the hood. I wish I was that smart to get people to buy my product like that.

exactly. if you can make something just as fast, or faster, with less HP and better gas mileage, it just makes you more efficient, not weaker.

If I was in the market for a new car right now I would buy one providing you can afford it. The car is quick with good power, handles great, excellent brakes, and get 36MPG's on the HWY.

I read on line yesterday that gas will probably hit $4-$5 gallon by summer. Seems like a no brainer. One last thing I read on line by an auto test site that on a track it's actually faster than the new 335i. If i find the site where I read the article I will post the link. The 335i is faster in the straights, and the 328 is faster in the curves, but it beat the 335i in the lap time.

The 328 is not faster at all, in fact its .4 seconds slower the 335.
The 335 does 0-60 in 5.4 the 328 is 5.8... (both of which come turbo'd so with a tune the 328 could smoke the G.)
My honest opinion the 328 is an awesome car which is raising the bar for Infiniti and the g37. The 328 has a smaller (turbo'd) engine, MUCH better gas mileage and is .4 seconds slower than the G.

The G25 was a flop when you compare it to the 328.

Don't get me wrong I LOVEEEEEEEEEE my G but the new BMW 328 is an awesome car.

That is why I have the 00max00 putz on ignore. He was the same tool that got on the dude who traded his G for a '12 TL.

Anyways, I dig the new 3er seems like the 328 really stepped up and a turbo four is delivering..

when the xdrive comes out i will get a test drive and decide if i want the 3 or the g in 2013.

the g is a nice car but it doesn't feel as powerful as the spec sheet stated.

Did I say the 328 was faster than the 335? Please reread my post. The article I read said the 328 was faster on the track. The 335 was faster in the straight's due to more power, and the 328 was faster in the curves. But in the end the 328 had the faster lap times. Also 5.4 VS 5.8 for a 0-60 is meaningless in real world driving conditions, unless you live 1/4 mile at the time.

On a side note back in 2008 before i bought my 08xS I test drove a 328I and the 335I. I actually liked the 328I better.

Found a review for the 335i where they mention the new 328i handles better.
"More importantly, the lighter 328i clobbers the 335i in the corners. We considered the 335i to be the on-track benchmark of the near-luxury sport sedan segment -- until we drove the four-cylinder. The 335i turns in with rubbery reluctance and then settles into mild understeer. The 328i does nothing of the sort -- despite what feels like more body roll from behind the wheel, the four-cylinder Bimmer throws itself at corners like teenage girls at Justin Bieber: with controlled wags of the hips and a breathtaking amount of confidence. The 335i might still be a better corner carver than its chief rivals, but it's no match for the 328i."

That's due to the weight, and the X's are about 200lbs heavier than the RWD sedans. The older G sedans, before 2007, were
pretty quick and felt more nimble than the currents G. They weren't faster in the 1/4 mile, but IMO were more fun to drive.
Most modern cars are just too heavy.

my previous love, Acura RSX, was still very light these days comparing to G, and getting close to 40MPG on hwy, however G gives me this solid feel,


back to my OP, the bimmer, isnt my cake is because the poor quality interior and boring exterior just dont attract my wallet to pay for the 50K plus, and give me another chance to choose I still chosen G.
