I know you are trying to make the best of a bad situation there with way too much rim and way too narrow a tire, but that looks very strange to me. I am surprised that your tire even seats on the rim since it is not even wide enough to be on the lip. Is it like that on the inside too?

All you need are snow tires and it is good with the LSD in pretty deep snow. Drove my RWD 6spd. sedan all winter in WI last year.

Just so you don't feel like the only sane voice in the room... I'm dumbfounded anyone would do this intentionally. Can't even think of a good analogy... maybe like seeing Rudy Giuliani walk across a rocky beach in stilettos. Sure, we laugh at him, but Rudy feels pretty, and that's what matters.

That said, JohnnyD has camera skills. Can't deny that.

Agreed. I'm about to hit my 5th winter with this 6MT Sedan. With Traction Control, Anti-lock Brakes, a Limited Slip differential, and proper snow ties... there's no reason anyone needs AWD in this car, unless you routinely drive uphill in the snow, which is a valid concern. For that matter, if I had an AWD car, I'd *STILL* put snow tires on it.

That would actually be kind of fun. I've a buddy who puts snows on his Subby STI, and it's a blast to drive in the winter.

I was trying really hard to be nice, so thanks for chipping in your 2 cents so I don't seem like such an as#hole. The fact of the matter is there is a reason no race team or engineer would recommend running a set up like that. No thanks for the Rudy Giuliani imagery. I'm just glad I wasn't eating anything at the time or I probably would have had to get a new computer.

I have run a Subaru RS, WRX, STI, and Evo in the snow with snow tires and they were all awesome. Instant rally car! I do miss that with the G37S in the snow. It is still fun with snows, but not nearly as fun.

.
Its pretty easy to understand, It's a look. It's not permanent , his fenders are untouched. He can raise up his coils and throw on a set of different wheels/tires.

The same ideology can be applied to people who have a meaty setup, huge 305's and a 10.5'' wheel. Then, drive the car in bumper to bumper traffic to work and back. And, do nothing else motorsports related.

Personally, I'm not a fan of fender-in-lip, slammed and stretched setups either BUT you're exactly right, it's a LOOK.

I'm running a 275 rear with absolutely no use for it other than I like the LOOK.

Absolutely hate seeing bagged cars crushed to the pavement for photos, however... those wheels.

Wow. We never see rims like that here on the forum. They're really stunning.
