It's been a while since I've put together a model car, but it's OK to trim the plastic nubs where the pieces were connected to the mold.
The diffuser is for a 350Z, had to get the carbon side pieces trimmed to fit on the sedans.

That's the first time I've ever seen anything like that. I need to get out of the house more often, because apparently it's a thing.

Is that the look you want, or are you just experimenting? It could very well look better without those earrings.

It is most definitely a thing, but at least K didn't do what others are doing by putting the TS diffuser below another diffuser (like an autokits).

The current trend is to just stack more parts on each other: over fenders on fenders, lips on lips, sideskirts on sideskirts, diffusers on diffusers, and GT wings on spoilers/duckbills.

Well I guess they are called "splitters" instead of lips/sideskirts.. Kind of goes along lines of "short tails" instead of muffler deletes, because changing the name mean changes everything.

The Top Secret Diffuser has been out for a while and there are tons of copies out there. I have seen them on all types of cars. Does it flow with the car, I doubt it but it was something that a friend had extra of and owed me some money so he gave me the diffuser. Wasn't really going after a look, just threw it on and it is what it is.

This is about it for the exterior modifications for me. Last thing would be something for the side skirts. Gotta focus on the go-fast parts now. But as you can tell from my IG my other hobby is getting in the way of that.

You're right, thats where this "modding" is going towards. Stack parts on other parts. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't.

Who says I won't be putting a wing and a duckbill trunk on? Hey man, I have a splitter under my front lip! Just got the splitter rods installed, it was pulling down on my lip the one night I had it on.

I went to the VQ|North meet a couple weeks ago, and there were many, many cars with splitters. Mostly up front, underneath lips both OEM and aftermarket. But also along the side, underneath OEM and aftermarket side-skirts.

It was... weird. And very impractical. Yet it was certainly a thing in that crew.

Some guy/company called Z-Splitters up in Canada. No website, just Facebook and Instagram and whatever else the kids today are using on their phone. Which in of itself is yet another trend that more than one people commented on...

"I don't go to the forums anymore." Yikes!

Hey anyone can do whatever they want to their own car right? I was just stating the current trend that I can't unsee now; I actually didn't pay it any thought until I was skimming through pics of SN Dallas and came to the realization as 90% of the cars had "splitters" stacked on top of their aero. Personally I don't like the "splitter" under the stock sport lip that everyone seems to be doing, but I never really liked the sport lip to begin with (again that is just my opinion).

Agree, as with any trend sometimes it works, and sometimes people take things too far / go full retard. I'm waiting to see triple and quadruple stacked parts!

Love the way your G is going Surrey, looks almost factory, but so much better.
Well done.

That's the way you do it, IMO.

The best mod is when a normal person looks at your car with appreciation, but they don't exactly know why... and a bonafide car enthusiast looks at your car and has to ask, "Is that stock?"
