All you guys are too nice on this thread and forum. A muffler delete is not a mod and is nothing to brag about. I think this is probably why I stay away as much as I do now a days.

The tires are not mounted backwards. When I traded in my mazdaspeed I slapped on a set of very cheap tires and this is the way the tread looked. It is just the way the tires are made.

Actually depends on your definition, IMO it has been "modified" which is what a mod is. It may not be what you like, but he likes it and he did a nice job w/ the tip selection and the fitment

I think zo probably just mistyped/omitted the word "performance" mod in his sentence. By saying everyone is too nice he is probably alluding to the downward spiral in quality of acceptable mods throughout the forum and even the "scene" for Infiniti cars as a whole. It is true that muffler deletes, cutting springs, drilling holes into stock airboxes, and the like are all technically mods; but these mods used to have a negative response by enthusiasts whereas in recent times it seems that they are applauded and put on display.

I think the mentality shift is the biggest hurdle for enthusiasts these days. To instantly stop someone with the "don't like it? don't comment or look away" just doesn't jive because everyone is entitled to their own opinions; whether it is in agreement or disagreement. But no - if someone doesn't agree then they are automatically considered a bully, snob, or troll.

I much like the previous mindset of "don't like it? help me understand what is better."

Completely agree.

In my very humble and short build thread Roch said he was pretty unsure about my future mods and I asked which ones. maybe I hadn't thought of an alternative way to do something but other than that horrible idea of a shifter extension he declined to answer. And that's ok but I welcome all feedback personally, good and bad.

It's the "participation trophy" generation coming up and it honestly makes me sick.

Go ahead someone disagree with me here and call me a bully! hahahaha.

Well you are correct and it is a "modification" to the vehicle just not what I consider a mod. And since when is no one entitled to express his or her own opinion here? We can all agree to disagree here on the form instead of getting offended or insulted by what I write.

snob and bully...not worth it? really John

I've helped a bunch of people out here on the forum when they PM me asking me for advise or opinions. I answer all my PM's. I don't ignore them because I'm not a snob nor do I think I'm better than anyone else here.

BTW I did like his pictures and headlight mods and I should have told him that last night, my bad. Keep up the good work guys. We all started from scratch here.

If you're getting him a beer, get me one too. You can ruffle my feathers all day for one of your fancy new IPAs!
