Hopefully I should be at the end of my list sometime next year.

I think it's fair to say that most people here buy their G's fully intending to modify them. But "fix them up like crazy" as Tony did? Doubtful. I think he's somewhat unique here on the forum.
Tony isn't typical. His car was once just like 99% of the rest of us here... a DD and family car, lightly customized with common mods. But at some point, he went from black to white (literally, LOL), and turned it into a hobby car that he trots around to various shows.

The plan originally was to get a white 6MT RWD V36 with black interior, but I had to come to terms with the fact that they are quite rare especially if looking in the used market which is why I "settled" for the black exterior. I'm sure if I was able to practice more patience back then I might have found the right colored and optioned car eventually..
One of the lessons that I have learned while modding cars is that if you ever 'settle' for a mod then you will eventually have to go back and redo it properly. Which sometimes ends up costing more time and money than if you did it right the first time! It's so hard to overcome the 'I WANT IT NAO' trait that most of us mere humans have though. I'm sure we've all experienced this at some point right?

Now that my car show obligations are over and I'm starting to reach the end of my 'to do' list I should start reaching goals and start trotting more tracks in the future! The fear, of course, is that the 'to do' list will start growing more.

And no disrespect intended when I wrote, "trots around to various shows", because clearly you drive the hell out of that car, too.

Very interesting haha i had intentions of finding a white on black 6 speed manual but I settled for an automatic with white interior NOT EVEN AN S. Coming from a 370z with the sports and tech pack I'm really annoyed with the rear open diff. I had no plans in modding it because I just wanted to keep it simple for me and the lady to drive but all that's changing lol. Now I'm wanting to go boost and swap the VLSD out of an 08 g37s into my car with the 3.69 FD. I'm happy with springs right now and I think I'm saving up for the stillen as I feel it's a good choice for the auto teams. Not looking to make too much power. Just bump it up a little. I still have the up rev license from the 370 and I believe I can use it since I uninstalled it from the Z. I'm worried about the 7at holding the power though.

But damnit. I'm trying to build a fun car on the side haha. The G37 sedan truly is the best of both worlds in my opinion so I believe that's what makes me want to mod it. It feels like it wants more haha. As for your build, I give you mad props as it's super clean and yet you've made it your own. You didn't just mod it to fit in. But you modded it to your vision. And that's what I like to see. My vision is greater than my wallet right now though haha I'll be slapping on some real parts in a year or so though
Also, what did you run in the quarter? Mod list?

^ Best I did was 12.63, I haven't had a chance to go back and learn how to launch properly as the car is getting some more things upgraded. I sent a PM with the mod list as to not threadjack anymore than we already have!
Stumbled across my old G on Craigslist this morning, so I jumped on Flickr to reminisce.
