Thanks, Man. I'll definitely be starting a build thread soon. Just need to get a break with work and life so I have the time to get it started.
DTM Autobody in El Monte, CA did all the work and they did an amazing job. Especially with the custom wide fender work and the molding of the Carbon Signal CF rear spoiler. The even had to cannibalize a G37 coupe rear bumper to widen the side edges of the 2013 rear sedan bumper so it would work with the wider fenders. The plastic welding job that they did on the rear bumper was an absolute work of art all by itself. Here's another pic of the completed car in DTM's parking lot when I picked it up last weekend.
Just do it. Shame we couldn't see your mods in progress, and best to just buy the car and start the thread next day (for no reason
), but its never too late to share your projects.BTW, I typically dislike big swoopy trunk spoilers. Strongly, too. But what you did there with the trim line at the top in black is very clever. Props to you on that. And quad tips... also very cool.
Meh.

Thanks, Rochester. Really appreciate the comments. Big compliments coming from you too, since we seem to have similar taste... basically, keep it clean and classy. And I'm still afraid I went a little overboard with this round of modifications, but oh well, I can always change it back if I want.
The little bit of black showing on the rear spoiler is actually carbon fiber showing through. I didn't like the full Carbon Signal carbon fiber spoiler on it before and wanted to go back to a more "subtle" look, and wasn't really sure what to do with it. I was actually very unsure about leaving any of the carbon fiber showing and the body shop actually advised me against it, as they didn't think it would look right... but after seeing it done and in person I think I actually like it and the Shop Manager of the shop that did work said they have actually had 4 different customers ask them to do the same thing after seeing is on my car, so it was actually very successful for them. Here are a couple of other pics of the molded spoiler which might show off the carbon fiber a little better.

Ok I think after everything I just typed here I probably could have just started a new build thread by now. LOL

Thanks for your endorsement of the Shine Seal product. I've been looking for something to seal the lips on my Volk GT30 wheels since I had them re-polished and they are now bare and I think this is probably just the product I'm looking for. I've been using the Mothers metal polish and it works great for re-polishing but adds absolutely no protection. $80 seems perfectly reasonable if it helps protect my $4500 investment.

You're a trendsetter, man. That's impressive.Actually... Actually... Actually... Actually... Actually... Actually... LOL
Didn't realize you were a 2nd Gen G35, and was thrown by your 2010+ front bumper. But it all makes sense now.
You have a very unique car. Some ricey parts, and yet it all works, IMO. You should be proud.

Ah, I see the CF now. Even more clever, because it's not paint, it's the absence of paint. Wow.

Hahaha. Thanks again. I've watched the progress of your G from afar and really like where you've gone with it, so that means a lot.
The car is actually a 2008 (but with only 55K miles) and I was actually planning on selling the car in favor of a new Audi S7 just a few months ago when it got hit, but decided to keep her for a couple more years and give her one last hoorah!!! tonyHTX's car has been a big inspiration for this phase of my build.
FYI... I'm definitely not part of that younger crowd you are talking about. LOL
