It's the details that define the car for the owner.
Of course, now that your OEM exhaust tips look new again, you're probably looking at the design of said tips and thinking it could be better.
If a full cat-back is out of the question, you could always install the Tanabe axle-back, which is a very attractive and affordable swap, and totally DIY. Or you could cut the tips off and weld on something new. Not the easiest solution, but not rocket-science either. Few people here actually go that route... I suspect blame lies in getting all the up-front answers on diameter, length, design, etc. And finding a good welder with skills and patience to deal with your request. It can be daunting.

I haven't posted to the forums in a while, but several months ago someone ran into my G in a parking lot, damaging the right rear fender and the rear bumper. Well that little fender bender turned this:

I'm still waiting on a couple more parts to complete the new build, and will post some new pics in a few weeks once its "done" (obviously the word done is a relative term...
