Factory splash guards
Factory splash guards
Hello everyone,
Been a couple of months with my new 2012 Limited edition. Really starting to like it. Had it's first oil change with Easter oil. Went to a Nissan dealership for the oil change was cheaper. Really staring to get on it now. The car handles awesome.
My question
I would like to put the factory splash guards on, which come painted in the car color.
Has anyone put them themselves?
Would I need to drill any holes?
Is there a good place to buy them?
Thank you for all your help. This site is great and fill of information...

That's funny, I JUST got off the phone with the dealership that my new splashguards are ready.
There are 2 types of replies you will find here. The first, like me, say "LOL @ attempting to install body parts on my brand new car and have it look right, especially with hardly any tools or experience. Throw money at the problem and POOF! New splashguards done perfectly for about an hour's labor."
Then of course, the people who have experience and tools claim "LOL @ paying someone to do such a simple job r u kidn me? All u need is a drill and they practically leap onto the car themselves."

When I was shopping for my 2010, I didn't want the splash guards. Then I saw the G37s on the lot with and without the splash guards. It changed my mind. IMHO,they actually add to the cars overall appearance.
If mine didn't come with them I would have put them on myself.
I don't like anyone working on my car, including periodic maintenance, since I know I care more about my cars and I will do the work to my satisfaction.

Thank you
I installed a set on a 2010 Journey model. As stated in the referenced thread, make sure they are situated flush on the fenders before you drill the holes. I found that the templates did not properly position the holes. You're better off getting a helper to hold the guards in place and marking the position for the holes.
