BMW 135i vs G37s sedan

Good friend of mine and neighbor has a BMW 135i that we have lets say a grudge match going with.
Backdrop is my wife's Lexus IS350 ran a 13.8 at 98mph and beat his 14.xx at 101mph.
Now the question is will my wife's new G37S sedan still beat his BMW?? The G has only 300 miles on it so I am waiting to break it in and then just for fun take it to the track. Stock for stock and his inability to get that 6 speed going should I once again beat him with the auto??

the g37 will run about the same as the IS350 but I thought the 135i would be quicker than both.

It probably does but he is always late at the line and has a hell of a time shifting that car. It either spins or bogs. We dont go to the track enough in those cars to perfect anything.

His car should be faster, period. It makes more HP and is lighter. That does not, however, take into account driver error, which he seems to have an abundance of.

His car is rated at 300hp. I thought the G37 is rated at 328hp?? These are things I am learning but in any account his car is surely lighter.
I need to search the site more for the specs as I didnt care much when we took delivery.

Well regardless of the HP ratings, the 335 is neck to neck with our car, and the 135 has the same engine but is lighter. I'd figure the 135 would be faster than the G.

Numbers mean nothing on the track. It's driver against driver take him on! Realisticly he should beat you, but anyone can loose by being a crappy driver.

The motor is underrated by BMW from the factory.

I would think the 135 would be way quicker than the G. Maybe zero to sixy in under 5.

135 = 13.35 @ 104.9
IS350 = 13.62 @ 101.0
G37 = 13.82 @ 102.1

He'll get ya by about 2 car lengths in 1/4 mile

The 135i is quicker than both. End of story. It's actually quicker than a stock 37 coupe as well.

On paper. Big difference at the strip. The 135i has more hp and torque but still pretty close if he can't drive. Back in 1996, my buddy's dad had a Dodge Viper we took to the drag strip and my buddy's first run was like 14.9. He finally got it down to 13.2 on his 4th and last try. Auto's at the drag strip is a big advantage.

Now if your buddy got a JB4 or other tuner, your toast...
