The real G37xS

I've always wanted BBK and OEM Akebono kit (purchased from CZP) was the solution for G37xS. Akebonos are fraction of the price compare to big boys like stoptech & brembos.

I got black zinc plated rotors to prevent from rusting.
Calipers were painted in red prior to installation.
Not only it looks much better than non-sport, it brakes better

Now my G37xS is complete as "real" sport model with BBK.
too bad 6mt sport sedans come with sport brakes.

currently running 18inch for the winter.

before BBK,

Nice! I always thought you XS guys got screwed. No clue why Infiniti could not put a BBK and firmer suspension on the X models.

^^ exactly!
that's why i had to get these.

Are you running Tanabe axle back only? I have Tanabe axle back and considering Y-pipe upgrade but AWD limits everything...

I'm just running the axle back. I can't justify purchasing the y pipe or mid pipe.

I've thought about a new CAI only because my OEM filters need replacing. There's nothing wrong witht OEM intake design. I'm just looking for a little more sound.

Nice! Can you confirm that there's no need for spacers to clear the akebono BBK with stock 18" rims.

2010+ 18" sport (both AWD/RWD) wheel will clear these calipers by less than 10mm.

You know what the offsets of the stock wheels are? I want to upgrade to akebonos too on my coupe but worried about rubbing on the stockies. I'm assuming the offsets on the coupes are more aggressive than the sedans so they should fit but just want to confirm specs first.

New (and ecstatic) G37 Owner

Hey Fellas - recently purchased an early X-Mas present, an 09' Journey Sedan with only 30k miles. Silver Metallic with black interior. I'm in the market to purchase 20" wheels, preferably Black with chrome/alloy lips.

Any suggestions/websites from the seasoned 37ers on the forum?

Your question has nothing to do with this thread. How about going to the wheel part of this forum?

18inch sport sedan wheel spec is 18x7.5 +45mm all around.
sometimes it's not all about wheel offset to clear bbks. it's all about spoke design.

^^^ +1

Definitely spoke design. I have a 2009 with the sport wheels from the 2007-2008. Same 18x7.5 +45 specs up front. Akebono's won't clear without a 15-20 mm spacer.

Looks good, I'm currently doing the same with my 2010 X coupe. Glad to see it worked out well.
