Tint for White G37

Any suggestions on Tint (%) value for my brand new white g37 ?

I am thinking 20% would be good, for all windows...any thoughts?

Thanks

what's your state law? in CA, it is not legal to have any tint on the front windows, so 20% might be too dark for all windows. I went with 35% all around and it is dark enough for me not to be too ghetto fabulous, and keeps the police away so far since they can still kinda see me a little. Also, what color is your interior? I have graphite, so it makes your windows appear darker.

35% all around

You may get a little heat for this as it's one of the most common threads/questions and people are going to recommend you search as you will find MANY MANY threads. People are also going to be all over the place.

White car does look different. Makes the tint look darker because of the contrast. Are you going for classy? Or blacked out? 20% is dark especially on white. Although the younger tuner guys will be like oh no 5% is better

Your also gonna get state law comments. Do you know what your state is? Do you wanna be legal?

I like 35%. Classy, looks good, doesn't attract negative attention, etc.

Here's my white sedan with 35%. It looks dark from all angles except straight on it gets a little light. Specifically the side shot in that thread you have a lot of back lighting from the sun behind it so it loos even lighter straight on.

Just my comment on tint - I have a white 2009 G37 and have 35% all around (except for windshield or course) and overall it's good.

I wish, however, I could have a graduating tint on the front windows, start at about 80% at the front of the window (where the rear view mirror is) and gradually go to 35%, rearward, until 2/3rd across the glass it becomes 35%.

At night with no streetlights and no moon out, it's sometimes hard for me to see the streets I'm turning into and I find myself either rolling the window down to see, or crooking my neck out the windshield area to see. Having a graduated tint on the front windows would fix this.

Semi-related....any opinions on less drivers tint and more rear tint? I went 35% all around for the coupe, but next year a new sedan or suv will join my stable...

I think it's cleaner to have a uniform tint all around. unless the difference is minor. but if you were to do, say, 5% on the rear and 35% on the front, the contrast will be too drastic IMO.

I did 5 on all back windows and 18 on front windows, guess I am one of those younger tuners, but looks so good on white. One of my things though is that I get migraines with bright lights so i do need dark tint on the fronts for reflections from douche bags in big trucks

I just tinted my white g37 sedan two weeks ago. 35% for the fronts, 20% for the rears. I think it looks great. I'll try to post a picture when it stops raining.

I live in CA and did 50 front and 35 rear, you can't tell much different most time and it turned out pretty good.

Thanks guys...sounds like 35% is good..
RoseyPSU - if you can post pics of your 35/20% tint, I would like to see that..as that is where I think I am heading. Its either that or 35% all around.

Definitely not trying to do the ghetto look, more on the classy side

I run 35% on my white G. Keeps the cops away, but looks dark with the graphite interior.

I put 5% on every car I own. I can't see anything when its sunny outside, so I rock limo + sunglasses.

Backing up at night is a pain though.
