Almost got the 5.0 before I settled on the G37. The Mustang was an awesome vehicle, and it was priced well below the G with incentives, but couldn't match up in overall style. Congrats on the new G, and welcome to the club!

New Subaru cars are 50/50 for mt and 45/55 for at under normal conditions. The G37x ATTESA system definitely prefers the rear. 100% RWD after the first 20 feet or so under normal conditions.

Mudgen: That's what I thought re; the Subbies. You are correct on the mt and the 5 AT on a 3.6R, But with mine - a 2.5i CVT tranny, it's 90 front and 10% rear until there is wheel slippage and then it adjusts accordingly for the moment to 50-50... The G's system can also be controlled using the Snow Mode switch which keeps the car in 50-50 mode until you reach 12 mph..It also moves the traction from rear to front instantaneously depending on road conditions which causes slippage - wet, snow, even wet leaves, etc...in conjunction with the Traction and Stability control systems. In the modern AWD cars or SUVs of today - the systems work in unison with Traction & Stability systems.

My 2011 G37x has the snow switch. That's good information, Al. I didn't know the particulars of the G snow switch, nor about the severe front wheel bias on the Subie CVTs. But not enough power on the 2.5i to worry about torque oversteer, so probably not an issue.

we here in California maybe dont need that, but it's a great feature IMO!~

here Cali winter usually around 65F, and raining for a week or so then sunshine all season along~ but still gotta wash my G quite aften!

Mudgen: Also the Snow Mode switch is a "governor" as to the Throttle until the 12 mph speed.....this helps against slippage in snow conditions. Experiment with it and see the difference when you step on the gas.

Smile New Blue Slate G37x

Hi G37 friends!

I am a newby and just bought my G37x on 10/4. I too researched the BMW, Audi, Acura TL, Volvo S60-T6. I chose the G because I felt it gives a great blend of perfomance, reliability, technology, and luxury at an unbetabale price. I am loving it. It was a hard decision weather to buy the coupe or sedan, but after looking at them sid by side, I chose the sedan. I think I will waite a couple of years and see what the new coupes will look like (Essence?)

I added the Premium package, Nav Package and a few accessories; kick plates, all weather matts, slash gards, rear deck spoiler, trunk mat kit with cargo net, etc. I really like the color: Blue Slate with Graphite interior.

I bought a G20 20 years ago when they first were introduced in the U.S. I loved it then and I am glad I bought a "G" again, although it is a far cry from the first G20. (140 horsepower)

I found this site about a week ago and it is great with very knowledgeable
G37 owners.

I do have a question, one you folks doubtlesly have kicked around - If I upgrade power a bit, is it wise to get a "programer" or go the other way with the intake upgrade?

-Thanks!

I have about 400 miles on it so far and have only found one defect which my dealer is going to fix on tuesday when I add a rear spoiler. The defect was the weather stripping around the front of the hood which you can see was torn, It was a small tear, but shoudn't have been there on a new car. I can't waite to get the spoiler on - I hope it looks good!

Nice color combo. Just purchased mine few days ago, blue slate w/graphite. I too also found a defect on the weather stripping in the front hood. It's actually not a tear but more like not sticking correctly. dealer says they will fix it along with a couple other minor scratches on the bumper and front grilles. -soops
