Weird message

Ok Sunday night the wife and I where out in her car, When we got home she was backing up the sonar went off( Always does ) she parks pretty close to our fence. When she put it in park the Message" Check the Front of the car" Flashed on the screen, But has not happened again. I would assume there is nothing wrong since it only happened that one time. Just curious if anyone else has had that happen. Thanx

No its actually the sonar display like the BMW. If you hold setting button and turn the volume nap clockwise, you'll see a hidden setting menu. In there, go to the camera settings and turn the camera off. After its off, exit to the main menu and put in reverse and you'll see the spooky screen as someone called it. Reverse the setting and you'll have the camera again.

Its standard on the overseas model.

Makes me wonder if we are just a harness and a few sonar sensors away from plug n play-ing it into the US version.

Granted the sensors arent cheap, but it would be interesting to see if the rear sensors work in the front if we could find the connecting point.

Unfortunately the service manuals linked in this forum do NOT have the complete audio-visual documentation, where the sonar stuff seems to be.
