2 week old G37x Sedan fuel problem
hi guys,
i got my G37x S sedan 2 weeks ago and i am getting about 11/MPG in the city!
WTF!
i live in brooklyn, NY. i have been gentle on the accelerator to make sure that my lead foot is not killing all the gas.
do you guys have any idea what is wrong?
i called the INFINITI dealer and they told me that i cant rely on the sensor, blah blah.
i am getting good mileage on the highway. just like it says on infiniti's site.
about 28/MPG
please help.
thanks

If you drive your G in mid-town Manhattan, you could get less than 10 MPG. As another member already stated, stop and go traffic kills the MPG on this car. On the other hand, this car is pretty efficient on the high way.

It's all about how you drive it...I get 16-18 in town and over 26 on the highway.
Stop and go does make a difference, but the difference of getting 11 or 18 depends on your foot.
I actually get better mileage in town with my G37X than I did with my 350Z...but the Z did better on the highway.

Let the car break in - it was the same way for me (live on long island and battle LIE traffic) and my brother (hes a cop in Brooklyn that commutes from Valley Stream)... It will go from 11 to about 16-18 around town and 21-22 hiway (with stop and go traffic).
My MPG went up the first time around 800 miles now again at 1200 miles.

I get around 14 in town but I've never got anywhere near 28 on the highway. The best I can remember getting is about 23.6 mpg and that number was reached by calculating the gals used and the miles traveled. I don't trust the accuracy of the cars figures.
Anyway a G doesn't get very good MPGs. Let the car break in, keep your foot off the gas and it will get better. Not much but some what better. Your doing fantastic on the highway though, I have not been able to get much over 25. My wife has but I can't. In fact most of the time I will get around 19 on the highway as I bought the car for fun not MPGs.
