Congrats either way!!
Where have you been? This option combo has been available since 2008, maybe 2007.

(I used to drive a Honda Civic before I got this and seats were almost totally flat there)

Thanks
Good Luck with the new car. I have a 2010. We love the sport seats. Feel secure in spirited driving and we've taken some long drives and feel fine after. Better than we felt in our 3 A6's although the Audi's had a smoother ride. My wife as a passenger concurs.

Well, all I can tell you is: Don't do it for at least 2 months and see how it feels. I absolutely HATED the seats for about a month. I mean as great as this car was... I almost couldn't stand driving it because of these seats. Then after about 5 or 6 weeks I don't know what happened. The seats became the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. I absolutely love them now. I don't have a single complaint about the car now.

Good luck

I just came out of a 2008 G37S coupe and now have a 2011 G37XS sedan.
The sport seats in the coupe were horrible for me, I think it's because you are sitting lower in the car, and tend to sit ON the bars, there was no way to get comfortable.
I removed the metal bars, aaahhhhh, comfort, no one noticed when I traded it in.

In the new sedan, I find them snug, but way better than the coupe.
I find that if I put my knees together and center my butt and push back into the seat, my body settles BETWEEN the bolsters, and I'm very comfortable.
I'm 6-1 and 210lbs.

I have the same car as the OP and at 6'3" (210) found the thigh bolsters of the drivers (sport) seat too tight. I read through the thread describing how to remove the steel side supports but took a different approach to address the issue. I removed the seat, pulled the leather off the sides and proceeded to bend the steel framing out to put the bolsters on a lesser angle rather than removing them by cutting... problem solved and it took all of 1 hour.

I am pretty good with the tools but, a shop going in blindly should not need more than two labor hours tops.

At 5'-10" 175# I think the Sport seats are some of the most comfortable seats I have been in. They fit and hug me very nicely.

They are never going to know when you turn the car in, don't worry about it.

I will say I got my S about 6 months ago, and also was bothered by the tight thighs on the widest setting. It progressively got worse and drove me nuts, then got progressively got better. What I've noticed is I think I've adjusted how I sit, resting the side of my thigh less on the bolster. ...I'd give it some time. I rarely notice it anymore.
