I have an 07, the nav provided value for 2 years, but as others mentioned now that I have a Droid it is totally worthless. Its so much easier to speak the ENTIRE address into the phone all at once. Even if the G's voice command works (which it doesnt) you have to say the street, wait, say the number, wait, say the state, wait........

I'll likely never buy nav in a car again, however the tech package adds a few goodies.

You can view the droid screen on a G, however there is a certain mod you gotta do to show vid while driving. Also, only certain phones output their viewing screen, the HTC Incredible is one of them.

That said, when we were looking for a G, we didn't even consider any without the factory nav. We've spent too many years taking portable units down from the windshield, putting them back up, and chasing them around the vehicle after making a quick turn. We'll save the Garmin for use in rental cars during business trips or vacations.

A portable GPS stuck on a windshield is an invitation for someone to break a window and steal it. It also screams "I'm lost and vulnerable."
For the last few portable GPS's I have owned, I also purchased the beanbag type dash holders. The GPS stays put, even during aggressive driving and when I stop, other then my garage, I put it down out of sight.

I started to hate the OEM Navigation in my G37 as well; as some have observed some of the routes it suggests are totally bizarre, furthermore the POI suggestions are useless and outdated. But I do love the clean look of built in navigation and its integration of other functions of the car.
There's nothing more ugly than an aftermarket GPS system hanging from the windshield with visible wires running down the dashboard.

[QUOTE=sniper27;3174439]I recently took a trip to San Diego. About 140 miles one way and cruising @ 75-80, I averaged 29 mpg.

[/QUOT

Have you done the mileage math on paper to confirm the numbers? I'm excited if I get 24 mpg and would pass out if I got near 29 mpg. Do the other people here believe the accuracy of the cars figures? I haven't got 29 mpg rolling down a long steep hill.

This is what I got going down hill in neutral. It actually stayed above 30mpg for about 10 miles. Then I got tired of babying the gas pedal. im pretty sure 29 mpg is possible with the right conditions.
