My G is getting raped by idiots who can't park. :(

I have gotten 2 huge scratches in the last week, and now a big door dent last night as well. All are from the same 2 cars who park at my wife's work. The parking is tight and the G kinda big so there's not a ton of space.

We confronted one of the people on Monday and of course he denied putting a series of 9" long scratch lines on my back rear side. He also denied the paint he scratched off at the exact same spot just a few days later.

Now last night the car on the other side put a note on our car saying we should park properly and leave more space for them. We then check the car and we see a big door dent about 5" long on the front door. The nerves on that woman.. she blames us for her hitting our inanimate car with her door. If the parking is tight, don't bang your door into ours?

So we called that lady and of course she denies it as well.. the fun part is that it's registered parking so only those 2 ppl could have done the damage. I called the lady and she doesn't want to pay for anything, etc... standard douche stuff. Call the cops.. nothing I can do except file a report for my insurance. Useless.. or I can sue her for the damage. Not worth it.

What is your experience with things like this? It seems to me like people never want to admit anything bad they do.. and that karma is, hopefully, a bitch.

cliffs:
- a lot of people are tools
- a lot people cannot drive
- there's no way of forcing them to pay
- my G now has 3 dents, 4 sets of scratches and this in only 1 yr of ownership
- it highly annoys me

Yea I mean it'd be fun for like 10 mins after I do it but then I would feel like I went down to their level. Not my thing.

I cannot understand how some people can live with themselves knowing they just screwed someone's car AND then lied about it to them in some childish attempt at saving $100.

Assuming it would NOT be obvious who did this, it's probably not going to be effective; these type idiots typically don't have nice cars, don't care or notice damage to their cars etc... If they had a nice car too, they would be careful as well, and this thread, started by the OP, would not exist.
I'd be furious.

out of the 4-5 damages I got, only one lady left a note and never argued about paying the amount I asked of her. She was really nice about it and I made sure to thank her for her honesty. It really is a rare thing.

I feel your pain. A few months ago, I parked to text. I parked far away from the busy spots and still of POS buick parked next to me. My girlfriend called me so I answered.

As I was talking to my girlfriend I watch and felt as the passenger of the buick (a woman in her 50's) swung her door open and hit right behind my wheel. She mouthed the words "I'm Sorry" and walked off. I hung up on my girlfriend and talked to the driver (her husband). I was pissed.

He said, "lets see what she has to say". Upon her return, I said, "you hit my car with your door". She said, "nope". I kinda yelled, "you mouthed the words I'm sorry when you did!". She asked me to calm down and her husband got out of the car.

He said, "son you're acting kind of crazy". I was furious, it only made it worse when he said, "I know all the cops in this town anyway". I screamed at him to call the cops if he wants and showed them where my car was scratched. After almost having a heart attack, I told them to f*** off and start acting like grown ups not a**holes.

I'm still pissed just thinking about it.

Careless people are a plague to nice cars!

I feel your pain as I have been in the same situation myself all too many times.

If possible, buy yourself a cheap, but reliable “beater car” that your wife can drive to work and park next to these two irresponsible smack-tards. This way she can knock the hell out of their cars with her doors if she feels like it and see how much they like it.

Many people who live on Long Island and work in NYC have cars like this (they call 'em "station cars") that they drive and park at the LIRR station. If you think your wife's parking lot is bad, you should see the abuse a nice car gets in a LIRR station parking lot! Been there, done that.

I hear ya, my cars get banged up all the time from street parking, damn new yorkers.
The way i see it, you spend more time driving it than looking at it, and yes, karma is a bitch.

don't let your wife take the car to work anymore I learned my lesson here in VA. I have a parking garage I use for my apartment building, but it is also shared by the public, so spots are not assigned. I have 3 door dings, a scratch, and somehow my rear passenger window is scratched/scuffed and needs to be replaced. Luckily my insurance is taking care of everything and now I know to go to the lowest level and park with no one around me.

Yea I've been contemplating buying her a Vespa so she can commute. I think i'll do just that..

As for how to fix the blemishes/etc.. I bought a touch up pen from Infiniti that has covered up all the scratches so far. It's a bit of a DIY since you also need to sand the paint a bit and apply clear. But it's cheaper than a body shop and looks ok if you don't obsess about it.

I had my old Solara for 6 years and it had one door ding, and I know who did it. When I got my G the Solara was passed on to my wife. She parks in a public lot at work and it probably has 5 dings, a huge scraped across the back quarter panel, bumper, and one on the mirror. Needless to say my car doesn't go to that parking lot. It just goes to show you what careful parking can do to prevent this (and I realize that's not possible in some places where parking spots are small and tight, like SD or in the city). So I'm torn, because I want to drive my G to Cali this weekend, but I know everywhere we go I'm going to be faced with *&%^ty parking spots and idiot drivers.
