I too have been wondering if metallic tinting would interfere with the antenna, keyfob, or GPS. I assume it would only affect the antenna on the rear glass since the GPS is in the sharkfin but could anybody with metallic tinting chime in?

This look good. So clean! Love the contrast! White exterior makes it pop.

from what i know, the ceramics are more pricier but apparently last longer and are better.

I have the llumar brand (which is not ceraMIC) and i love it.

I spent 160 bucks to get my sedan tinted (4 windows and REAR windshield).

if you dont want any trouble with the popo, just get the legal limit.

P.S. if the legal limit is 35%, it means only 35% of the sunlight goes through the tint, NOT THAT ONLY 35% IS BLOCKED.

Some think the latter is the case and get confused with all the %es. Just FYI if you didnt know.

If you go to a reputable tint shop (which I'm sure there are many in NY) they should be able to assist on what is legal also have them meter it when the tints are installed so you know what exact percentage is.

Thank you all for the input. After some thought, I decided to go for 35% all around.

In NY the laws are very strict. You cant have any film on any of your windows except the back windshield. The back windshield has no limitations it can be painted black if you really wanted to.

Safe bet... i know a lot of people driving around with 35's and the cops dont bother them. You may find the occasional cops (If your on staten island "Salazar, Hagerty") that will bust ***** for any little thing and give you a ticket if you have clear film on your windows. I personally like dark tints i have 5% all around and I'm considering doing 35% on the windshield.

new york law states front and rear side windows must allow 70% light through, so you don't have many options. Do they make a 75% window tint The rear windshield has no limit though, but that sucks about your laws.

Update

I've been busy...it has been 2 months since I decided to tint. Finally made an appointment to tint this Thursday.

After some research, I finalized to have 3M Crystalline 50% all around except the windshield.

The maximum darkness for this film is 40%. I was thinking about 40% but the police here are writing tickets like there is no tomorrow. Giving that I have graphite interior, I went with 50%. Since the original glass already has some tint on it, plus the 50% I'm putting on, it will be like 35% to 40% as end result.

I'm betting it will come out just dark enough.
