The '12 looks a hell of a lot better. Still too big of a car for a DD for me. Might make more sense if I had a family and a kid or two, but for my wife and my dogs the G is perfectly fine.

Even when we have kids I'll plan on keeping this car.

Better rethink your credibility: the G25 makes up almost 30% of all G sales to date. It's been a big boost for Infiniti and part of why overall G line sales are up 21% this year.

So what's the big popularity with the smaller engined car? Better MPG? Lower cost?

Female drivers. It's BMW's marketing scheme re: 335i vs. 328i.

No surprise here. I test drove the Acura TL and BMW 335i. TL had more luxury and refinement but handling basically sucked. Was like a souped up Accord.

335i had awesome handling, rocket like acceleration (only marginally better than the G) and much more smoother engine than the G37. But a FULLY loaded 335 was north of 50k. My fully loaded G (journey/prem/navi/rubber mats/tint/paint protection) was 15k cheaper! No brainer. I dont mind trading a small amount refinement and nameplate snob value for 15k. Saves me $$ and the G is more reliable than the 3 series in the long run..

Recently, I test drove a friends 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 and 2011 Camaro SS Convertible. The mustang was an eager beaver and felt real good when I floored it. Camaro SS on the other hand - oh my , what a POJ. 44k car - all rubber inside, BIG blind spots, very heavy, poor handling , acceleration is only very marginally better than my G37.

The G with super handling, thunderous acceleration and luxury features, while maintaining good reliability and brand value is a no brainer... 3 years ago, I looked down upon Infiniti as a brand. Not anymore. I love my G.

This.

The G37 is hands down the best value in the entry sport sedan class. Hell, a 328i in any option combination you choose costs several grand more than a comparably equipped G37.

Agree guys, I went through the same decision logic. For me it was a 8k difference to a 335 coupe and I just couldn't justify it (they offered me a great deal on the BMW). Would have felt like I got hosed even though the BMW salesman was much better. My dealer experience was terrible with Infiniti. Also, I would guess the G will have better resale value. The Japanese cars are amazing when it comes time to sell. My wife totaled her Sienna and we lost 12k after six years and 68K miles.

being in the vert market, i test drove a stang and an audi a5. i had already owned a bmw before so i knew what that was like...

i must say, bang for the buck, the g37 wins hands down.

the stang was power on tap, but the g37 looks alot nicer (imho) and handles alot better (i have g37s 6mt)

the audi a5 vert was pure sex. but to get it with the options the G had, it would have cost a good 10-15k more... PLUS, they didn't make an a5 vert in stick... only auto.

i ventured to look at the s5... OMG that thing was so freaking sexy... a bit out of my budget, but i would have been able to make it work if it only came with MT... i can't for the life of me understand why audi doesn't make the S5 vert in MT. i mean... they make the s5 coupe with MT... different engine, but damn...

It could definitely have a lot to do with the G25.

I've been seeing quite a few of them popping up lately..
