i HATE semi trucks and pickup truck. I will floor it if necessary to pass a semi, and will steer clear of pick up trucks at all costs. In Alberta it seems that everyone who has a pick up truck is making up for a lack of something, so they buy the biggest truck the can and drive like *******s

That's like the 1st year I had mine and going down the freeway (in the fast lane) and a truck in the slow lane (yep 2 lanes over but ahead of me) losses a 6 in piece of 1x1 channel iron. I see it bounce and take an odd kick into my lane. I speed up to avoid it and it was close. When I got to work I take a check it it really gouged my passenger rear wheel. $200 to me to get it repaired. Oh well, it taught me a lesson to avoid all trucks, big *** 4x4's and PT Cruisers (I just think the PT Cruiser drivers drive bad.)

What sucks is that I also try to avoid all trucks fr this very reason....but was boxed in with commute traffic & had nowhere to go. I swear it was a piece of road base cuz I literally saw it fly up from the effer's tire and hit the glass like a bullet. The other side of my brain has shown me the bright side in the last 20 minutes though....I now will have a nice clean pitless windshield again. ;-) ......but it's a freakin hassle. Damn

IMO I would rather have it hit the glass than the paint.

Sorry to hear it though!

Ha, I just got home and the first thing I did was check the hood to make sure....thankfully it only hit the glass. Damn thing sounded like a gunshot & scared the hell outta me even though I watched it happen in slow motion.

+1 on glass vs paint. My car has something like 653 miles on it and there's a noticeable (well, at least to me) chip in the paint on my hood already from a rock :/

But that does suck. I try to only drive behind cars smaller than me. Which is really hard :P

Sorry to hear that though, I hear if you alternate really hot water and really cold water on it, it will help it "self-heal".

(Please don't take that seriously, it will probably break your windshield. I'd say find a good place to get it repaired and get it repaired before it gets bigger/worse.)

I too picked up a rock in the windshield last week..but just a small pit and not enough damage to warrant replacement or repair...just irritates me every time I see it.

Please add Saskatchewan to the list. We have bunch of rednecks here that own trucks but have no need for trucks. It's because they were brought up that way and that's the only type of vehicles they'll ever buy.
