I just noticed rust inside the exhaust tip.

My G is well kept in my garage this winter. I did drive it in the snow, but it was in the garage most of the time. Garage temperature was kept between 50F to 60F, 55F average.

Is this normal?

did you try cleaning it? your car and your tips look pretty dirty.

 

The car was hand washed just yesterday. Drove around today and its all dirty again.

I'll try to clean the tips tomorrow.

 

Normal. They all do that after a while. Probably has something to do with where you live also.

mine doesn't seem that bad...car was washed 6 days ago. i'm guessing it has something to do with the climate in the East coast.

 

You seem to have some rust there too...so I guess its normal then. Yes, we had record number of snow storms here in NY this winter. Can't wait to see Spring.

 

If that's the only place you look for rust you have seen nothing my friend. Look at an entire exhaust system underneath. Warm garage in the winter is the worst you can do to a car from the rust point of view. Remove rust with rust disolver containing phosphoric acid. Then paint with high temperature paint specifically designed for exhaust and manifolds. It helps to do a better job by taking entire exhaust system out.
