Gas Pedal

Hi all. Just got my new G37x (slate blue) at end of December. Love the car, however its my first infiniti and the pedal seems really tight. Whenever I drive my calf gets tired and sore. I workout regularly and am in good shape, so that's not the issue, and have been driving for over 20 years and have never had this problem. Anyone else have a similar experience? Any ideas. Thanks!!

i've had this issue sort of when i first got my car (never been in a vehicle like this before)
I was too used to pressing the gas at the tip. do you usually press the gas pedal with your whole foot or just the tip of your foot/toes?

if you put your whole foot on the pedal, it lessens the complication.

Thanks for the responses. I do a lot of local driving, so cruise control is not an option. And I have started to use the whole foot more as it does lessen the issue, but just weird as I've never had this problem before.

I am experiencing the same problem but in an reverse effects. Coming from driving SUVs (Trailblazer & Expeditions) it took sometime to get use to the responsiveness of the pedal. I've had to limit myself from pressing the gas pedal too hard, since a slight change in pressure on the gas pedal could send my car flying down the road.

My problem with it was that the camry's gas pedal is suspended in the air vs the G is a pedal on the floor, so I'm more naturally used to pressing with my toes to get sufficient response. Just something to adjust to, im glad it's helping you out.

I'd say there's something wrong with the pedal. Have it checked out at the dealer.

hm...i can't say that i've experienced the same, but in all honesty...being my first manual car, the third pedal threw me off for a little bit; i can honestly say that my left leg was a bit tired the first few bits. as for the gas pedal, you'll learn to shove it all the way down soon enough. unfortunately, your gas mileage...well, you get the idea. HAVE FUN! ENJOY YOUR CAR!

Check your seating position. I find that with the gas pedal, the angle between the face and the floor is near vertical, causing a lot of strain on my calf muscle as well. This is exacerbated because I like to sit flat and low with my legs stretched out.

Haven't noticed any unusual tension on the pedal here. But then, I used to own a Porsche 914 many years ago that was like doing a leg press when working the clutch and gas pedal, so anything seems a breeze in comparison. Next time you take her in for service get in another G and see if it's the same. You very well could have an isolated issue?
