I vote graphite. I think it shows the lines of the car better than black (or even Blue Slate - My car color).

Welcome!

I was debating between black and graphite when I was about to buy my G. I decided to go with Graphite Shadow for 3 reasons:

1. Black gets the car too hot, I rather the car looks hot and not be hot literally.
2. Swirls and dirt shows easier like others have mentioned
3. Graphite shadow just sounds damn cool, and the G trim goes perfectly with the dark gray exterior in my honest opinion.

Hope this helps with your decision, and awesome present!

Because black is the most classy color.

My last 3 cars were black on black, they are not as bad as people say they are to keep looking clean.

Black= classy
Red= sporty
White= old people
Actually I believe it's the other way around.

Every old people in nice car that I've seen have black cars. Because it appears to be more "mature".

While white cars are more prefer by younger people, specially female. White BMW/Audi are everywhere, all driven by young people.

Wow, thanks so much for all of the responses. I'm glad to hear that a lot people are suggesting graphite - I was afraid I'd get a lot of "get black!" responses.

And we live in Tampa, FL, so it gets very hot here (+1 for graphite) and we have a horrible love bug season twice a year (+1 for graphite).

I'm still waiting to hear from the dealer as to what they have in stock. The saleswoman did tell me that the price of the car wouldn't change if the color changed. I told her that I found that hard to believe especially if the MSRP went up!

Thanks again!

A black car doesn't get hotter inside because it's black. That's silly. The black interior might, but not the exterior.

I have a black G37. I'm nearly OC when it comes to keeping it clean. It's the last black car I'll ever own - never again.

'nuff said

Sure it does....it's a proven fact. Black paint doesn't reflect sunlight like a lighter color paint. It absorbs more of it and transfer more heat to the interior. This was proven on Mythbusters a while back.

That's a good point. The G has beautiful lines and black seems to hide them more than lighter colors.

Yes it does. Same goes for light colored roofs compared to black, which also has measurements to back it.

The choice is pretty clear. Everybody here would get Graphite Shadow. So get Black, be different from everybody else.

I agree, get the more exclusive color.

Platinum silver is nice, but silver is more of a girl color as well as white.

If you do get a light color, get black interior. The contrast will make the car pop.

Lol

And yes white used to be for older folks. Not anymore. My bro has a white 458. My cousin a white M3. And my G is white, so there!

My neighbor has graphite, another vote. Looks good.

Graphite! I've always been a fan and love the look of black, but it is very hard to keep nice. The swirl marks from the average joe using towels etc. is terrible. Black is not for the average joe's daily driver.

On another note... again I love dark colored cars all my life and have grown up around muscles cars and family members with best of show awards... But as of lately there is something clean and classy about a white car that I have fell in love with. My moonlight white with Graphite should be in the driveway soon...

..don't get the old people drive white cars? I think the "oldest" looking G color is either Smoky Quartz or Blue Slate. Those remind me of grandparents.
