Yep the Lexus IS-F cost $59700
while the M3 cost $55400

They are Both without Options and Packages.

I don't see why the hell would anyone get the IS-F over M3.
I just checked out both BMW USA and Lexus's website and I saw the base prices. I stand corrected. I've just never seen an M3 for sale with 0 options on it like that. Hmmm.....

Oh yeah! That exact car was my first find when I was shopping for my first car. It was that bright metallic green they were famous for and it was completely modded and blown. A guy in the service was being transferred and had to sell it quick. Since my father was matching half the cost, he had the final say and when the hood was popped he blurted out a very firm, "no way, you'll kill yourself in that thing!" I bought the stock Firebird and built it myself anyway!

I agree, that was, and still is, one hell of a car for the period.

Silver, 2 door, AWD, Coupe, AUTO 6SPD, 3.8L V6, Stock# 250813.
Dealer: Hanna Imports

And that is just his asking price

used 2010 GTR for 56k. They are going down in price!!

Used Nissan GT-R Cars For Sale - Yahoo! Autos

fantasy 2nd car (in the same price range as the G?) is a loaded question.
1. Fun car for me ->370Z sport model with NAV

2. 4 door sedan if I needed that utility -> TL with SH-AWD although the new style is not so hot

3. Utility vehicle -> 4 wheel drive land cruiser used 1997 41k base price (well the wife would like that)

4. Fun utility vehicle -> A jeep wrangler (more for the wife)

5. other daily driver if I needed 4 doors but RWD-> used Lexus IS350

6. oh, a used M6 vert. Always loved those. Just not into paying a an arm and a leg for BMW maintenance though.

Yeah, the M3's options can get alittle pricey. But I still don't see how Lexus can justify selling the IS-F $5000 dollars more expensive than the M3. It's like their LFA that they priced at $375000 dollars. You could buy Two Ferrari with that kind of money. Don't know what the hell are they thinking.

It's been sold.

The reason GT-R been going down in price is because the 2012 GT-R is coming. They are shipping in mid Feb to be exact.

The 2012 GT-R is a huge improvement compare to the ones before. It's so much better you can almost call it GT-R2.

Increased from 480hp to 530hp. 0-60 time from 3.5 sec to 2.9 sec.
And a Nürburgring lap time of 7:24 seconds, the number 7th fastest production car in the world to run the Nürburgring.

What's not to love.

Edit: As a comparison:

Nissian GT-R(2012) 7:24
Ferrai Enzo 7:25
Lexus LFA 7:38
Lamborghini Murielago LP640 7:40
Mercedes SLS AMG 7:40
Ford GT 7:40
Audi R8 V10 7:44
Porsche 911 GT3 RS 7:47
BMW M3 8:05
Lexus IS-F 8:18
Audi S5 8:26

EDIT2:
OPPS ! Abit Misinformation there ! Apparently the 2012 GT-R did a Nürburgring lap time of 7:20 seconds EXACT ! Offically beating the Porsche GT2 RS's time of 7:24 seconds.

I snapped that bad boy up! JK!!!! It did go fast and your are correct about the 2012 causing the drop. I saw the same trend when the 2010s came out and they were not really a big improvement. I think they just addressed the launch mode issues in that model year.

I know right ?
Not only does it do 0-60 in 2.9 seconds.
The GT-R also makes 530 hp at 6,400 RPM and peak torque of 450 lb-ft from 3,200-6,000 RPM.
Talk about awesome !

What's really sick is you could have (3) GT-Rs for the price of a single
LF-A, and still kick the LF-A around the track

I think I would go with:

1) Evo out of the box fun

or
2) S14 with SR20 swap if I wanted something to waste money on.

The LF-A is a collectible. As they are only building only a handful of them, they would appreciate in value. Its also a technological marvel from its design to its engine and drivetrain. The GTR is faster, but its not a 'special'.
