Now they are starting to get the the right idea! They don't still have that "Live Axel" setup in the back do they? I had an 82 5.0 GT with the manual tranny that had pretty good power for its time but it handled only a little better than my buddie's 73 Chevelle SS! Well, maybe more than a little better but you get the picture.

It has a solid rear axle, but it's set up to perfection. I believe it was Motor Trend that tracked the current 2011 5.0 against the current M3 and the M3 barely (and I mean barely) edged the Ford around the track and the 5.0 left the testers completely amazed. This new Mustang is the real deal, and although the interior isn't as polished and a bit more spartan than the more upscale nameplates, the leather is better than our Gs, but the fit & finish still is a notch below the Japanese brands. Reliability is very good for Ford products, they've improved the most from any automaker.

Ford is ahead........
They are amazing. In AUS it is used in a 4 door big family car. Off the showroom floor its pushing out 440wHP. Its rated at around 440 HP (335kw) but in reality this is at the wheels. With a tune they are getting over 500wHP. The supercharger setup is also non-intercooled. Tuners are really starting to playing around with these back at home.

There's also another ford motor (AUS built) that is a 4L single turbo in the FPV FG F6. I took one for a drive and in gear acceleration is porsche turbo fast!!

Maybe Chevy and Ford will start back up the pony car wars of old and keep pushing each other to the limit. That would be sweet to see. It sounds like Ford got really serious this time about surpassing the Camaro in more than HP.

Uhhhh sorry about shouting about the price again ...

But this year, the IS-F is almost $5000 dollars more expensive than a M3.

Yep the Lexus IS-F cost $59700
while the M3 cost $55400

They are Both without Options and Packages.

I don't see why the hell would anyone get the IS-F over M3.

Oh they are! it's just begun lol... the Chevy Camaro Z28 will be their beast.. the SS is no longer their fastest one, I believe the Z28 comes in 2012. You know Dodge won't be far behind with their snake and challenger.... the domestic power days are back, and they learned how to make cars "turn" instead of just going straight lol.. and this time they get great gas mileage. I think the new 5.0 gets better gas mileage than the G lol......

On a side note, I'd like to see the new Boss 302 vs a GT-R on the track...... The regular GT kept up with the M3, I'm sure the Boss will beat it.

Hey, it was fun reading all your replies. Man, if I had a couple extra stalls in the garage I would really be tempted to fill them, especially after the many choices and suggestions posted here. My aim would be to go with something quite different than the G. I agree that a Supra would be a fun project car. There was a suggestion of a vintage muscle car--and actually that is something in my future plans. My first car was a 69 Firebird. Been sort of looking for a clean one, but the Cuda's, GTO's and others from the late 60's are also on the hit list. Heck, I'd even go for a slammed cruiser, like an early 60's Continental, Cadillac, or similar, just to completely go the other direction. In the meantime, the G is providing lots of enjoyment.
