Aero Package

Can the Aero package be added to a G37xS already on the lot, or does it have to come from the factory with it?

I pretty sure the dealer can add the spoilers.

The aero package can be added by the dealer, but usually they charge more then if you bought the aero package on the car from the factory...

Good. Reason I ask is the dealer only has one car with the options I want on the lot minus teh aero package, and says the limited engagement sale ends Jan. 3rd and is worried we won't be able to find the exact car and get it here in time. SO, I was thinking about offering for him to have them add the spoilers to seal the deal...

if they can't do the deal, i wouldn't worry about the limited engagement. they always have some sort of limited engagement going on, especially on the G.

I love the aero package, but it is crazy expensive. DEFINITELY not worth it to have them add after the fact. Buy the car, get a great deal, then go aftermarket for lip and skirts. You'll be better off in the long run.

Here's my opinion: When you lease a car and get it from factory, you will pay only the depreciation on the package. Meaning that instead of paying full price, you will pay around 40% of it. So if the package is $1000, it will only add around $10 a month to your lease. It will cost you way more to do it after you take delivery. I know you're leasing the car, so besides paying full price plus installation for it, you also will lose it when you return the car. Tell the dealer to install it before you take delivery and ask them how much it will add to the lease. It might be more than getting it from factory, but it will be cheaper than doing it afterwards since it will be included in the lease. Don't pay for it separately.

That's the plan. Since he can't get me the exact color combo on the vehicle, I told him to add the aero for the same monthly... he's checking with service on his costs and is calling me back.

Sales manager called back and said they're really at the bottom line with the deal. Quoted me $410 front lip and $425 rear spoiler = $835 installed.

Tell him to run it in the lease and tell you how much more. Let us know. Try to settle for $5 more a month. It will probably be around $9 more.

Not sure if I should do that or just pay for it up front...

if its a lease, add it to the lease. If you were financing, then I would say buy aero pkg after wards. both can be had at 300 each.

Wow, don't know how this worked out, but I called him back and asked him to run the numbers with adding the cost of the aero ($835) into the lease minus the tax... he said the payment would then be $404.64 compared to $380 ???

I said that doesn't sound right and his response was "You have to remember it does residualize."

$24 extra a month over 36 months = $864... LOL just ran that while typing. Guess it is right!!! Crazy...

HELL NO!!! it's not right. tell him you're supposed to pay the depreciated value of it. It should be around 40%. he's trying to screw you.
