jg10G37-S - you mention that your sedan had A/C vents in the back seat? I don't have that in my G.[/quote]

Correct. What I was trying to say is that the auto has rear vents but the MT does not because of the e-brake. The vents/controls are in that area so manual will omit this option.

Nice ride!

I just picked up my 2011 6MT Sedan this past weekend and much like my 04 6MT Coupe that it replaced, it shifts much smoother with VDC off.

welcome to the club bro. If your looking for parts for the car you can always contact Alex at autokits. He makes the trunk lip for the sedan and is also starting to come out with some nice body parts for the car(diffuser, front lip, rear wing and side skirts) Heres his email so you can contact Alex directly, im sure he can send you some pics of his work. Great products!! autokits-x@hotmail.com or contact number 954-251-2120

Thanks for this tip. Would have never thought that turning off VDC would allow for better shifting. I will have to try it for fun. The shifts from 1st to 2nd can still be a little rough but I'm starting to be more consistent.

Uhhh...what? Please explain how disabling VDC has anything to do with shifting.

If you shift aggressively the VDC cuts the fuel if it detects any 'slipping' so it could make it seem a little abrupt.

^ ok, i suppose. but is losing traction on upshifts a regular problem for you? if so i doubt many others live at the same race track you do.

for 99% of drivers turning VDC off will have no affect on manual shifting under regular driving conditions. an exception would be in winter driving conditions when allowing some wheel slip will help forward momentum.

Its been a while since I looked into it (since 2004, when I got my first G) but it definitely made a difference.

From what I recall, the problem is that the VDC can be a bit presumptuous on detecting wheel spin. I'm no expert on the subject, but its my understanding that there are more sensors that are involved in the calculation on whether or not to cut power than simply wheel slip. The VDC system utilizes information from body position sensors as well (roll and yaw).

Anyway, before I get too deep into trying to explain things that I only have a cursory understanding of, I purchased this module from KP Technologies:

KP Technologies (Second one down, item # SM20)

It kept my VDC set to whatever setting I was previously using it at when I turned the vehicle off. I usually left it off unless it was raining, then I'd turn it on. Luckily, I salvaged it from my '04 6MT Coupe, so it'll be going into my '11 6MT Sedan.

welcome to the madness. I'm new to the brand, so I'm not sure about this. you want the lip? is that the chrome lip thing? I have the spoiler, I think. regardless it's OEM so at least you can take a look before you make your decision. it was part of the aero pkg.

pics here: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...pkg-white.html

best of luck with the car.

was there a facelift for 2011? if so, don't show me pics or i'll be upset, b/c I just got my 2010 about a 6 wks ago?

I got a 2011 a few weeks ago and the only thing different that I have noticed is that the "S" no longer had any major options. Nav/Prem/etc. packages all became standard.
