Has anyone else left this piece of vinyl in place? It is at the bottom of the door jamb on both rear doors. Thanks.

 

Before you mention about this, i thought that was a part of the car panel. lol, yea i still have mine on. When ever i wax the car it would get some wax stuck on the edges. Maybe we should take it off? it might look weird if 2 years down we take it off and the paint looks different than the rest of the car.

 

There is a variation of this on the coupe. You're supposed to leave it on there, it protects from road chips. The coupes have a larger piece; I can't see that little piece protecting a whole lot.

 

Was that there to prevent shipping damage or is it like clear bra stuff to prevent rock chips? I'll have to check my car to see if dealership removed it in sale preparation but looks strategically placed for some purpose.

 

Stupid if it's there to prevent rock chips. Too small and in a weird place to do any real protection of flying rocks. Really not sure why the hell it's there for lol.

Thought so.. looks like an area where the front tires would throw rocks back and hit that lip.

Its there for a reason....it will protect against rock chips...and I'm sure it's needed.
