ETA for G37 Redesign?
ETA for G37 Redesign?
To all the Infiniti G series experts and aficionados out there, does anyone know when we all might expect a redesign of the G series? Either for the sedan or the coupe? I'm interested in leasing a 2010 or 2011 G soon but am concerned that there might be a redesign in the works for a year or two from now.
Thanks in advance.

My guess is that is will be a more radical version of the current body, with an even more aggressive nose and more pronounced fender swells, and a less rounded butt. Like a more aggressive and curvier version of the M37/57, especially if they use the styling cues from that concept car that was making the circuit not too long ago.
Bet we'll ge more interesting stock headlights, too, some sort of LED design will probably show up....there's too much aftermarket interest that is good, attractive work in that sort of thing, and all the other makers are incorporating them into their new model's lights as day and nightime runners/city lights - audi, porsche, VW, bmw, land rover, Holden, etc.

Japanese cars usually do a complete redesign every four years. If the model is unsuccessful in sales then they work on a new model, which shouldn't happen to the G. But usually every four years. So after 2012 would be my guess.

I agree that Japanese models tend to be redesigned every 4 years or so. However, it has been over 5 years so far since the last redesign of the G. That is, unless you count the "refresh" of the sedan for 2010 a redesign.

I would like to think they would probably roll out the redesign until 2013. Why would they change the lineup for only the 2011 model year for the g25? It just doesnt make sense to me for them to add another engine option for one year.
If they didnt plan on using the v36 platform for another couple years why not just introduce the g25 on the next gen sedan?

Im thinking 2013 at the earliest. Definitely not 2012.
The G25 just came straight from Japan where it has been sold for a while...no extra work needed by Nissan (with the exception of some emissions stuff probably).
