Don't all automakers have to increase their avg mpgs to a certain level? Having more economical vehicles in their lineup makes sense from that standpoint, and to make the brand more visible to the masses. I don't think many that have owned (or even driven) a G35/37 would want to downgrade, but for those wanting a luxury marquee at a better price this will have appeal.

This has been talked to death on several threads....the only question I have is why it took Infiniti forever to figure this out. BMW has the 328 and Lexus has the IS250. That said, I'm glad I leased my car...resale values won't matter . If values do plumet, it will create an opportunity to pick up a nice car at good price.

infiniti on par with mercedes/bmw in 5 years?

i doubt it...not in prestige. German cars will always have that halo that japanese cars try to, but cannot obtain.

even if the cars were equal or superior ounce for ounce, the general public will attach more prestige to those two German makes.
