Has anyone here try that? I don't really want to go thru the hassle of a roof rack or a hitch. I don't mind the backseat getting all dirty since rarely anyone sits back there.

I haven't tried, but I would guess you could. I was able to fit 2 bikes with no front wheels in my old protege, so I would imagine you could for this car.

I can't fit my mountain bike back there, but my friend's fits. It all depends on what size frame. Just make sure you put a towel on the seat to keep the crank teeth from ripping and greasing your leather.

Cannot even fathom putting the bike back there

I used to transport my bicycle in Altima's (2001) backseat and the door trim would get scratched, there would be grease stains left on the seats. There is also a big risk of ripping the seat due to the teeth in the gears as someone already pointed out.

This is yet another area that needs to be addressed by the Infiniti. If you can fold the rear seats in BMW and have mounts to put the bike rack on A4, 3 series and even 1 series there is no reason why G shouldn't have those options.

I bought a tow hitch for the G37 (etrailer.com) but it turned out that it isn't that easy to bolt it on. You have to take the whole bumper off to saw off the spot welds. Was quoted $180 to do it...
