Wow and you don't even have tags yet. The good part is the wife is safe. Try to claim diminished value on the other party's ins.

FWIW: Just wanted to keep you all updated. Took the car to the body shop last Wednesday after getting authorization from Allstate. Was told the guy driving the other vehicle was not on the insured's policy, but not to worry. Now I find out the body shop just received the authorization and didn't touch the car until yesterday, so six days parked at the shop for nothing!

So now the parts are ordered, including a new factory quarter panel. Allstate ordered the panel repaired, but I was insistent with the body shop that I can be **** about repair quality and wanted the car perfect, otherwise it would come back. I think they got the hint. Estimated repair time: another three weeks.

So, here we are with a brand new car that we enjoyed for two weeks, only to have it ripped out from under us for a month. In the meantime, we have a new Camaro as a rental...nothing like the quality of the G, but sorta different and marginally fun. More updates later...hopefully positive.

Good luck on the repairs. I've also heard some difficulties about matching the white paint (along with the platinum).

BTW, what % tint is on the G?

Thanks. We chose a body shop highly recommended by Riverside Infiniti and they advertise that they specialize in Infiniti and BMW. We're hoping if anyone can do a good color match it will be them.

We went with 20% tint on the rear window and 35% down the sides. Would have liked 20% all the way around, but had a tint issue with CHP here in Cal in the past, so thought we had better play it safe (or at least safer).

Well, thought I'd post a follow-up. Here's what has progressed since my original post:

1: The guy driving the Tahoe was driving an insured vehicle, but he was not on the policy, so we're dealing with an uninsured motorist.

2: We are covered with a $500 deductible for uninsured motorists, but not covered for a rental car, so we have to go after the driver directly for rental car compensation ($800).

3: Rented a car from Enterprise and they scammed us on the rental rate. Will never deal with them again!

4: Allstate authorized delivery of our car for repairs to Holmes Body Shop in Riverside on Wed, October 6. Holmes didn't get authorization from Allstate until Tues, Oct 12, so our car was sitting untouched for 6 days. That caused us a needless rental car cost for 6 days, so Allstate waived our $500 deductible.

5: Stopped in at our Allstate office and added rental car coverage to our policy!

6: Body shop provided completion date of Fri, November 5, but maybe sooner. The car was finally released to us today, Nov 11, after daily delays. That computes to more than 5 weeks without our new car.

7: Body shop did an excellent job, installed a new quarter panel (even though Allstate suggested repairing the old one) and the paint is a perfect match.

So, we're back in the saddle again! I don't have much hope recouping our rental fees and diminished value from the uninsured motorist, but we're going to give it a try through small claims court. Allstate is already going after him for the $5,000+ repair costs.

For now, it's time to get out and do some drivin'!

congrats. i agree...i HATE enterprise. i rent cars all the time for work related travels and i find Enterprise to have the worse fleet of cars, plus they are like car salesmen when it comes time to push that additional insurance and all the other crap they try to sell you.

Riverside Infiniti uses a good body shop. Call them for their body shop info.

Thanks guys, I almost forgot how fun this car is! Installed the splash guards this morning, then we took it out for a spin. Everything seems good on the repairs and no squeaks or rattles. Would have also installed the front chin spoiler today, but when I cracked the box open I found that Riverside Infiniti mistakenly ordered the non sport spoiler, so I'll have to wait until next week. BTW: They are a great dealership to work with. Due to the error and the fact that it's 60 miles RT to return the wrong part, they offered to deliver the correct spoiler to my door. Ask for Mondo, he's great to work with.

Yep, that's exactly what I did after the accident. They highly recommended Holmes Body Shop in Riverside (they also have other So Cal locations) and that's who we chose. They were very slow in completing the repairs, but did a good job. Even though they drove me crazy with the delays and lack of updates, the end result is what mattered most.

Yep, you nailed it! They were deceitful and refused to make it right. We turned the car in after a week and went to Avis and got a smokin' weekly deal. I received a survey call from Enterprise and I gave them totally failing grades. The person taking the survey asked if an Enterprise rep could call me in a day or two to discuss my concerns and I replied to the affirmative. That was a month ago and no return call. That completely says it all--never again.

Hope everyone is out enjoying their Gs this weekend, I know we are!

Riverside infiniti uses Holmes Body Shop which is located really near them. I remember when I brought my car in for service, They backed into with 1st hour. They took it over there and the shop is top notch. They really matched the paint on my bumper and i was impressed because had no actual trace of paint work!

Glad everything turned out for the best. A good bodyshop is nice to have around. I know here in SW Ohio we have a few that do incredible work. I always go back to them, whether it's for body work or just some touch up.
