I don't trust anyone but myself to wash my G, if you just look at the car the wrong way you'll get a swirl or a scratch, or worse

i try to. but every 2 - 3 months, i go through an extensive series of Zaino steps and the car is perfect so far.

okay UPDATE..
so i schedule the appointment.. (next day) which is free and includes courtesy wash.
I send my wife since I had to work, I get home and there is a 4-5 inch scratch on my bumper from what appears to be from a dirty towel used to dry the car(failed nail test)... of course dealership wont own up to it! so MY first scratch didn't come from a careless person in a parking lot but rather the dealership that maintains it. just my luck

that looks like a light scratch. get some scratch remover or rubbing compound and it should buff right out. i had a small scratch on my passenger door also and used some scratch remover and it looks good as new.

He said he can feel it with his fingernail, which means it's probably too deep to remove with polish.

Polishing will at least round the edges and lessen the appearance. I would use touch up paint, then wetsand, then polish.

Glad it worked out for you, but that means you moved a lot of clear.

Agreed that it doesn't hurt to try, though.

rule number 1: don't take your car to the stealership for routine maintenance, unless you are having warranty work done at the same time.

rule number 2: if you do take your car to the stealership, don't let them "wash" it. vacuum, OK. but have you seen how vehicles are "washed"? not good. the kids getting minimum wage could care less about proper wash techniques.
