Keeping Car Scratch Free....

it is absolutely impossible to keep my car scratch free from just normal driving around everyday. I know there is alot of stuff on the road but does anyone else agree with me?

^^^ +1

It sucks that it has to be that way, and some cars/colors are worse off than others. Construction is finally done on my daily commute, so hopefully the scratches/chips become less frequent.

I think everybody here feels the same way about paint on our G's

my G is still scratch free...I don't worry about stone chips at all,
wt i worry about is the axxholes that open their door carelessly and making a dent on my car...because a dent looks far more worse than stone chips

We're not talking about deep scratches. We're actually talking about swirls and light scratches that bugs the crap out of everyone.

I had very poor luck with Doctor Color Chip. First, the paint did not match well....and the system did not work as promised either.

The worse scratches IMO are on the paint behind the exterior door handles. Looks really bad on dark colors.

Clear bra helps, but over time, it will get to a point that it is so scratched up from daily driving/years of wear and tear that you may replace it. The paint underneath will look flawless.
Try to park your car as far out as possible in a corner spot in the least amount of walkway traffic.
Never park in a corner spot in front of a store/strip mall if it is a 'high' traffic area where people will frequently walk by your car (purses, books, briefcases, zippers, and general overweight/clumsiness can easily scratch your car if they happen to rub against the body.)
Wash and wax frequently.
Don't park under trees reduces paint etching by bird crap.
Try not to drive near construction zones, contruction entrances/exits, gravel roads, too close to 18 wheelers on the high way (or too close behind ANYONE on the highway) and any place with loose gravel on the street.

Always be mindful of what is around your car.
