Car died, no power

Was driving this morning, and it's raining. Got on the gas a little too much, and the tires slipped, slip light came on, then check engine, and all power died to the engine - that is, car was on, but pressing the accelerator did nothing - no power, no gas no nothing. Pulled over, turned car off for 5 minutes, and then back on again and I had power and acceleration - still have a check engine light, though. Won't go off. Cars sounds a bit odd, kind of rough, and there is a vauge smell of oil although I can't see or find any obvious leaks. Engine bay looked fine.

Any ideas? On vacation, no infiniti dealer anywhere near.

I'm not a mechanic or anything. But are your Air Filters soaked? Could be too much water/air mixture going to your intake. Just what I would check.

Get/borrow a scanner and find out what the CEL code is.

Okay, borrowed a reader, and it said corrupted rom in the PCM / ecu unit. So it's off to the dealer I guess.
