also he said that leasing companies like NISSAN are artificially boosting the residuals on infinitis right now to push out more cars for cheaper lease deals.

the banks have depreciation insurance if the car sells for less at an auction. so this way the dealers win, leasing companies win, and people who buy their lease lose.

[quote=newg37;2963518]just came back from the dealership the mgr told me that the g25 will start out as a 6 cyl ~210hp or something and then eventually make it's way down to a 4 cyl by 2012

This is probably correct...and the driver for this change is our federal government and changing CAFE standards that are mandating increasing corporate gas mileage averages. I suspect the next iteration of the G will have a hybrid option also...it will be necessary for compliance purposes.

Someone here has already provided the link to an Edmunds article on the Nissan 250GT. There will be NO changes to the interior. Please refer to said link, Vasher posted it earlier, Edmunds have already tested the Nissan 250 GT.

OMG!!!! PEOPLE, PLEASE REFER TO THE FOLLOWING LINK FOR ALL THE INFO ON THE UPCOMING G25!!!!!!

Nissan/Infiniti News Room

-THE G25 WILL START @ $30,950 USD + DESTINATION! NOT UNDER $30K. THERE WILL BE A G25 BASE, G25 JOURNEY, AND A G25X!!!

-THE G25 WILL BE THE EXACT SAME CAR AS THE G37 INSIDE AND OUT SAVE THE ENGINE. AS STATED BY INFINITI THEMSELVES!
"The new 2011 Infiniti G25 Sedan shares the same dynamic exterior, interior and chassis as the G37, but with a smaller displacement engine."

-THE G25 WILL BE CAPPED TO A CERTAIN PRICE POINT BECAUSE ITS NOT AVAILABLE WITH NAVIGATION AND ALL THE OTHER HIGH TECH FEATURES SO IT WILL NOT IMPEDE ON THE G37 BY MUCH!

-YOUR DEALER MANAGER DOES NOT ALWAYS HAVE THE CORRECT INFORMATION AS DISPLAYED BY THE FALSE INFO HE GAVE YOU!!!!!

-PEOPLE AROUND HERE SHOULD LEARN TO VALUE STATEMENTS MADE BY da mayor! HE IS EMPLOYED BY AN INFINITI DEALER AND UNLIKE ALOT OF DEALER EMPLOYEES, HE IS QUITE INFORMED ON INFINITI PRODUCTS BECAUSE HE FOLLOWS INFINITI PRETTY CLOSELY AND SEEMS TO PAY ATTENTION AT MEETINGS. SO SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS!

-YES I AM YELLING BECAUSE THERE ARE SOME MANY PEOPLE IN THIS THREAD MAKING CLAIMS ABOUT SOMETHING THEY HAVE FAILED TO RESEARCH!

No Navigation??? That's retarded.

Nissan Sentra has navigation as an option.

he plans on leasing them out at $199/mo

he also said the interior would definitely have some modifications. so i guess that flushes johnenglish's opinion down the toilet
LOL sales people are usually the last people you should ask about a car. Read below.

I think this is initially Infiniti's way of keeping the G25 from potentially impeding too much into G37 sales. "If you want Nav, step up to the G37." And I think a good portion of G37's have navigation. BUT, I would think it won't last too long because I am sure there will be demand for at least the navi as an option. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually offer the nav as a stand alone option on the G25.

Maybe so....or maybe it's just because a high majority of G37 buyers opt not for the navigation in the first place. I'd love to know the percentage of G37's that were sold with factory navigation in the last two years. My guess is probably less than 20%

ok so i was right.

the g25 will be $31k vs the $33k base g37 making virtually no difference in sales prices (5-7%) isn't going to make infiniti's sales skyrocket or open the niche to people who otherwise couldn't afford it. In fact I doubt they will even sell well unless the residuals are ultra high (65-70%) and low money factor. I don't think a lot of people buy the G sedan for it's luxury... the 3.7l 330hp best in class engine is their BEST selling point.

If I had to pay $31g for a 220hp car I would buy a 328i or c300 in a heart beat. BUT because infiniti charges $33g for a 330hp car and bmw/merc charge around $40k+ for their 335/c350 I made the right choice.. twice.

everyone was speculating that the g25 would cost $5000 less and the only way that would happen is to cheapen several aspects of the car. there is no way to offer the same car with a 2.5l vs a 3.7l and charge significantly less for that alone.

also there is no foreseeable g25 coupe This is one reason i'm selling my black sedan. infiniti isn't carrying the same high performance brand cachet that it was 2 years ago.

If Infiniti downgrades the G25 to a 4 cylinder then they would need to come out with another model. Since Infinti bases their car names on the liter sizes of their engines, would Infiniti come out with G18 or something? I don't think a 4 cyl is likely... and certainly not likely for 2012 no matter what anyone says.

yeah if the PRICE WAS $5000 LESS

reading comprehension.

and yes, having a lower tier G sedan will eventually inflate the price of the g37 and give dealers more of a reason to only buy fully loaded g37s

i know my dealer doesn't ever stock base models of the sedan, everything is journey with moonroof and 90% have prem/tech/nav combinations.

now, if every sedan is fully loaded and a base model doesn't actually exist or is impossibly hard to find, doesn't that artificially increase the price of the g37? granted it has more options, these packages are overpriced and hold little residual value.

You don't write very well, so it is difficult for anybody to understand what you're trying to convey.
