Thoughts on 2011 G25 ?

230hp 190torq - same body style...I think it's a homerun from a corporate stand point, but from a current 37 owner's point of view - I feel it cheapens the brand.

Can't wait to see a bunch of highschoolers whipping around their new G sedans.

Its actually a positive step for them. There are a lot of people who want a luxury mid-size sedan....but have some money to spend.....such as buying something along the lines of a 3 Series or C class. As mentioned by Kenny, he gets a lot of customers who dont care for the power, but like the car over-all....and although its cheaper than a 335, its more expensive than a 328.....so unless the buyer reallly likes the G, the sale is going to go to the BMW, because its cheaper and its a BMW.

I feel with the G25....Infiniti will give the 328's a run for their money (provided their reasonably priced). So those older people who want a nice car but dont care for the power....will now have something to fit their needs. at the same time you will see highschoolers whipping around in it as well

In my eyes, doesnt make a difference to me....as long as it doesnt have a negative effect on the 37's such as a price bump to widen the gap...ill be fine with seeing 25's on the road

I agree with use2vw! I bought my G37xS because I dont see them everywhere!! Gives me some exclusivity!...what I dnt want to see is 30" wheels, green , pink, purple paint work with booming systems with thier monitors lighting up my street at night G25s!!

The base G is only 1K more than a base 328. Anyone doing any research would take the G37 for 1K more.

I didn't not buy my G because it is a status symbol, so I don't care what people end up doing with their G25s. I did like the G with only the 3.7L engine though. Makes buying much easier. You aren't drawn in by a low base price, then have to go into shock when you want to get an engine in the car that can move.

On the bright side, maybe if they are able to sell a lot of G25s, they will work harder to fix some of the little annoyances people have with it.

^that's true but the base model 37 also sucks. If you look at the options that come (or rather don't come) on the base model G it is stupid to not at least get the journey.

So I think the G25 is a great addition and will be an excellent competitior with the Bimmers and such.

The smaller engine is a great idea for Infiniti to be more competitive.

BUT...be on the lookout for people on this site having their "37" badges pried off...

It's a smart move. I don't feel it cheapens the brand at all, that makes them more competitive with the 328i, IS250, and the TSX.
