the "temperature outside is stuck at 20 Degrees Celsius!"

I have a month old 2010 G37xS and for some reason today, the temperature reads 20 degrees celsius for the whole day. I'm out in Toronto, Ontario and its definitely hotter than 20 degrees. I thought maybe it was because i was parked in the shade but after driving it the whole day, it still says 20!. Has anyone experienced this before? or am i just crazy!

Weird. A couple of times just after washing my G35, the temp gauge wouldn't respond until the car dried thoroughly.

In my prior cars with similar external temp sensors that temperature is typical of the default value (68F) if the circuit becomes open or shorted so the system can still run reasonably well.

The first thing to check is if the sensor is disconnected - it's locate in the middle lower area in front of the radiator. Otherwise just take it to the dealer where they can quickly determine if it needs to be replaced.

thanks...., the next day, it started reading the temp again. I checked the sensor anyways, and it seemed to be connected properly. Oh well.... i'll keep an eye on it, and i'll bring it in to the dealership if it happens again.
