Question Rain drops when opening trunk.

Guys,
I have realized that the last couple times I open my trunk when there were rain water on it, water actually rusedh down from both sides and into the trunk interior. Have you guys noticed that?

Once the trunk opened fully, water starts sliding down towards the rear window. However, seems like the some water are trapped by the brake light and start gushing through the gaps from both side into the trunk.

You aren't alone. Unfortunately we all have the same trunk design as you

My car doesn't drip water into the trunk when I open it. It runs into a channel around the trunk below the rear window and drains. It's never run into the actual trunk compartment itself. If your is, you should have it checked out because it will cause mildew in the carpet.

BB,
I think it's a sedan thing. It's a design flaw, nothing the dealer can fix.

Seems to happen more when I open the trunk slowly. If I open it quickly 99% of the water goes down the proper channels.

The only proper channel around the light fixture is unfortunately into the trunk. It's a pet peeve of mine as well but not much we can do. I guess you can try to pul some type of silicone at the end of the gap but that may cause other problems.

This happens to me, but I suppose it happens to all sedan owners.

When I open the trunk the water just flows in the the channels around the trunk. Never had any issue with water getting into the trunk.
