Driving without a grill?
Driving without a grill?
Okay, stupid question maybe, but....
Is it okay to drive without a grill in your car? I need to remove it for a couple of days. I know it will leave the radiator partially unprotected, but I'm more worried about wind. Will wind entering the grill opening at 70mph tear anything up? I don't want to have the front of my car ripped apart! Has anyone drove around for a few days with no grill?
Thanks.

i did it for a month, no biggie. your just going to get a bunch of bugs in there. And yes it's unprotected from rock damages but it's either it hits the radiator and maybe dents it or bounces off your grill onto your hood and onto your windshield.
Thanks guys. Good to know.
BB,
I'm painting my grill(again). I'm not sure where I went wrong, but the paint is starting to chip/peel after only a few weeks. I sanded down the chrome, primed, etc. I wasn't very happy with the way it turned out anyways. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still just spray paint. Pisses me off, I spent a whole saturday painting that thing. So anyways, I'm going to take it off and have my body shop spray it for me. Now I'm just trying to find a way to avoid having to spend 4 hours sanding it completely down to the plastic. I think I'm going to try using a sandblaster at work(has glass beads for media) and hopefully that'll take the paint off without destroying the plastic. I'm open to other suggestions though.

Mine is rock chipped quite a bit as well. If the sandblasting works well, let me know. I'm going to have mine done by a professional too, but if blasting it first will make for a better finish or make it cheaper I'm all for it. Let me know how it turns out.
