Wrapping Grill?

I was about to buy the midnight grill for my 2010 G37 but I found some vinyl lying around the house. I have black (flat) and gunmetal (Metallic) very close to the color of my car. Has anyone ever tried to vinyl wrap their grill? Would you go black or gunmetal?

what color are your wheels? They should match IMO. I am going Piano Black like my wheels.

I think it would be tough to get it look nice with all the curves and angles... Worth a shot though.

One down three to go, went with piano black.
I made a rough templete with masking tape, removed it and put it on the vinyl sheet and cut it out.

This could actually look cool...thinking you might have to do something with the vertical connectors (paint them black?)...they are already becoming more obvious...

Keep the pics coming!

Just finished, came out better than I thought but not perfect.
Saved me $300.

Looks good, but what about the frame? To me, it looks awkward when the slats are blacked out and the frame is still bright.

I believe it looks nice like that; shows contrast.
