Taking car in for service

New g37x has 133 miles on it. The right front break rotor is getting large grooves in it already. Any else experience this? Hopefully they don't just cut the rotor.

Any pics?

You shouldn't after 133 miles. Get it to the dealer and demand a new rotor and pad. It's likely the pad and not the rotor but the damage is already done.

^ Holy Sh*T!!!!! That's very bad and potentially unsafe. Settle for nothing less than new pads and rotor. Is the left side okay?

the other three sides have zero problems. I had a washer and dryer installed today and the delivery person noticed it and told me about it.

Umm Yeah. DEFINITELY not right. Seems like something may be between the pad and rotor that is etching it rotor. Take it in and don't settle for cutting the rotor. You will need new pads as well.

I would guess both front pads need replacing? Or with such low miles would replacing one be ok

One should be okay, but since they as one part (you can't just buy a right pad) they should replace both from pads.

Yeah I am waiting for the dealer to tell you "Oh, something from the road was stuck to the pad, so we removed it, and turned your rotor!"... or to that effect. heh

Hopefully I'm wrong, and they won't hesitate to replace both front rotors/brakes. That is definitely not right!

Maybe a pad never got installed at all on that side? Please, take that to the dealer; it does not look safe.

They gave me a loaner. They had no clue what is wrong yet. It is pretty deep. I'd hope they would just replace the rotor, but won't know more until I get a call.

Keep us updated. I think that is too deep to turn it.
