Just for the fun of it I took my iPhone w/ PocketDyno and did some runs. *Disclaimer - not sure how accurate the software is, but here goes:

Conditions: 44deg F, 1/2tank gas, VDC off, 7spd in DS (auto mode)
Best 0-60 for the G37x was 5.07secs.

I was able to repeat this time fairly easily almost every run. No power braking, just floor the gas from a stop. Haven't attempted a power brake launch. Interesting note ,the car was consistently slower with the VDC on, didn't attempt to shift myself with DS, figured it would be slower as well.

What city? I'm just curious as to your altitude too.

I think R&T recently did a comparison test for the 2010 G37 sedan 6MT. I think they came up with 5.1 0-60.

With weight reduction or mods probably.. but stock no. It weighs close to 4000 lbs so the fact it can hit 60 in 5 seconds is impressive.

Near Elkridge, MD. Around 92ft elevation. I need to hitup a track around here to get some decent 1/4 mile numbers and compare to the PocketDyno.

Slip light on

I have tried to pull my best 0-60 times, I leave my VDC on but seeing the posts above, it will be off starting tomorrow.

Anyway, my concern is on my 08, the slip light would come on when attempting 0-60 but this was towards the time when the brake fluid was low. On my 10xS which has not made it to its 1st service yet, I am seeing the light. The tires & brake fluid cannot be the issue but am just pissed the light is coming on. Am sure switching off the VDC will eliminate the problem, but still this should not be happening.

0-60 in 5s is impressive in X form

Yea there's actually quite a few 1/4 strips around MD. When I had my Altima, I went out to Mason Dixon Dragway, nice drive out there with a good track. There's close ones like Capitol and a little further out 75-80.

Yea turning off the VDC improved the times a little bit.

Looking back at the logs, first run with VDC on was 0-60: 5.21secs (trans was always in DS auto mode). Not sure why your slip light is staying on, that shouldn't be happening at all. I did notice once during a run the slip light illuminated for a split second during the 1-2 gear change ;-)

Have you noticed a difference between DS and reg auto in 0-60?

I was just checking out a few of those on the web. I'm thinking of going to one of the test-and-tunes one night to do a few runs with the car. Anything I should know in advance? I've never done it before. Would I need a helmet or any safety gear? Which track in MD do you like the best -- I'm in MoCo so I think the 75-80 looks like the closest.

For just doing one or two 1/4 mile runs is it necessary to switch to a racing oil or something like that?

One day I'd like to take some lessons or a real loop track experience or something like that -- but with a car that isn't my daily driver. My thinking is a 1/4 mile straightaway has a comparatively pretty low risk of damaging something.
