best 0/60 times?

Plus, on top of all this, the new base, v-6 mustang is putting out 5.1 0-60s and 13.7 1.4s. What the hell? I can't let some little high school girl in her 2011 V6 Mustang outrace me!! lol, I got to get my time down. Actually I fond that pretty funny. Infiniti's 40k luxo-sport coupe is gioing to get killed on a regular basis by 22-23k base Mustangs because Infiniti couldn't come up with some decent torque. 20 more ft lbs would have made a huge difference, I think.

I think it's great that the new Mustang is going to be fast with good fuel economy. Every time a car manufacturer improves, other companies follow suit to remain competitive. It's amazing that technology (direct injection, etc.) is allowing horsepower wars to continue despite expensive fuel costs.
Keep in mind, though, that the Mustang isn't trying to compete with the G37. Most people aren't cross shopping the two before buying. The Mustang is trying to compete with the Camaro and the Challenger, which are big bloated pigs compared to the Mustang, IMO.
Eletric cars will be the norm within the next 10-15 years, and they put down enormous torque numbers. All the "car guys" flipping out about electric cars will be the first in line when they become affordable and run the 1/4 mile in the low 13s.

Let's enjoy the power of (all of) these high performance vehicles while we can. In a few short years, the "Infiniti" version of the Versa with all-wheel drive and a larger turbo will be all the rage! For now, my G37x will leave the 2011 'Stang at the lights for 6 months of the year anyway given our cold weather, snow and ice etc. Speaking of which, I'm taking my snows off today. Let the real fun begin!
