tint job done today

ya - it's a personal preference thing for sure. And some people don't like any tint. Which living in CA I just don't get that....
I do like 20% tint, although I have never done it on the front windows. For me it is a balancing act between getting the right look, adequate protection from the suns rays to keep the car cooler and protect the interior during the summer, and not getting hassled by the cops. For me that equation is currently sitting at 35% all around using my current tinting place anyway.

I did 18% all around except the front windshield. Visibility is still good at night.
Was pulled over for speeding before and the officer didn't notice the tint. Maybe because my car is black.
I noticed white cars with limo tint here in SoCal... Quite silly imo.

I don't like it too dark. Harder to see out of at night. I also prefer the look of the same tint all around, and since in CA the law allows for something like 70% on the front windows, going 35% all around is about as far as we can go and not get hassled by the cops all the time.

CA laws state that you can have tint that blocks no more than 30% of passing light, or 70% tint, for the driver and passenger side windows. Thus, almost any tint in CA is "illegal". The rear windows and rear windshield can be any level of tint. And the front windshield can only be tinted 4" from the top.

Hey C4,
Are you sure that CA allows tint on the front windows? I was pulled over last in CA (bay area) for a ticket for having tint on my front windows. The tint that I had on was the lightest you could get.
EDIT* NM I just looked it up and it seems that you can not have tint on any of the front windows. CHP-Frequently Asked Questions of the Highway Patrol states - '1.The windshield and front driver's side and passenger's side windows cannot receive any aftermarket tinting.'

But as a practical matter I have never been pulled over for tint and I have always done one of these comboes: 20% rear / 50% front or 35% all around. Either way you can see into and out of the front windows even when it isn't sunny outside. That is what most cops care about if you are otherwise a law abiding citizen. I also do not install the front license plate which is another one of those that cops typically do not pull you over just for that, but if you get nailed for something else they may throw it in. With the window tint you roll down the fronts anyway when they come to your door, so chances are they won't be hassling you about it. Of course, I'm an old fart driving 4 door sedans, so they pretty much are ignoring me anyway

Window Tint
nice! I also got 35% all around on my car. No problem diving at night and no tickets. I consulted with http://www.TintBuyer.com, they gave me quotations, the current tint limit in my state and helped me locate the best tinter near my place.
